Blacks and Hispanics complain a WHITE teacher was hired at a public school.

talk about racists.

They want to be taught 'their' history. Where they come from.

Well they are in America, and should learn American history.

Don't like it, go back to where you came from to get 'your' history.

Update

Perknose. And others calling me a racists.

1) read the article

2) They- I was referring to the people that say blacks should be educated by blacks, and Hispanics, by Hispanics, the true racists. They had their say in the article, which if you would have bothered to read you would see.

Here are some quotes about the 'they' I refered too

We're just saying what the community wants. We didn't fight for a white male or female teacher to educate our babies," Crozier said

and
The concerns are far from personal, McCoy said. Hiring teachers who look like the students they teach simply helps ensure sensitivity about topics related to race, he said

and

Nicole Morgan, 25, is now a graduate student at Howard University -- a historically black university in Washington, D.C. -- and said youngsters shouldn't have to wait until their college years to take classes from teachers with their same cultural or racial experiences

That's who 'they' are you fools.

"They?" The bolded by me above is unacceptable. Take your crude racism elsewhere, please.

Troll, you start a number of threads and then run off when challenged.
They [Blacks and Hispanics] want to be taught 'their' [Blacks and Hispanics] history. Where they [Blacks and Hispanics] come from.

Well they [Blacks and Hispanics] are in America, and should learn American history.

Don't like it, go back to where you [Blacks and Hispanics] came from to get 'your' [Blacks and Hispanics] history.
Please define for us:

  • What "American history" is
  • Why "Blacks and Hispanics" are separate from the US identity?
  • Is US history only a single identity? White?
  • Why must these uppity outsider to hush up and "to go back to where they came from?"
Here some hints michael1980, bigoted troll, for Hispanics, the US is the relative new kid in the South West's block. History lessons year zero in a region ought not to start with the USA.

Here, from your article:

With just weeks before the new Rutherford B. Gaston Middle School opens in southwest Fresno, community and church leaders are calling on Fresno Unified School District to reconsider its hiring of a white teacher to instruct African-American, Latino and Southeast Asian studies there.
As that's the course, it succinctly nullifies your complaint of:

They [Blacks and Hispanics] want to be taught 'their' [Blacks and Hispanics] history.
Well, yes they do expect that, and why not, as it's the subject of the course!

Clearly, your angst is partly of such an offensive course being offered. How dare a the monolithic myth of homogenous melting pot not be upheld, in all its white dominated purity???

At an early morning news conference Monday, a small group of concerned citizens led by Rev. Karen Crozier met in front of the school on Church Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

People at the gathering said the new school, which is the first southwest Fresno middle school in decades, needs teachers who reflect the ethnic and racial background of its students.
michael1980, rather than stick to the contentious issue of the race of the instructor, you made your troll thread to admonish the presence of blacks and Hispanics in your country, and demand them to submit to your pure views of national identity and history or "go back to where they came from...."

Seig Heil!

This forum's vocal membership expectedly and immorally disappoints. Like clockwork, the supremacist racial bigots regular make their published presence felt.

*Snip for space*
The OP did seem to miss the particulars about the classes being taught, but regardless, a white teacher can be just as qualified as anyone else for teaching them.

No need to worry, I'm sure that whatever is being taught by whoever will be taught to the regular standard of terribleness.

The troll would be you. These are questions you should ask the one's saying he should be replaced with a teacher of color, and why they think a white teacher isn't capable of providing just as good of an education.

Reading comprehension is an issue you have.....:

They [Blacks and Hispanics] want to be taught 'their' [Blacks and Hispanics] history. Where they [Blacks and Hispanics] come from.

Well they [Blacks and Hispanics] are in America, and should learn American history.

Don't like it, go back to where you [Blacks and Hispanics] came from to get 'your' [Blacks and Hispanics] history.
That's what the OP wrote, and made his focus upon, therefore fairly, the supremacist bigot can be fairly challenged.

Though I get it, xj0hnx, you sympathise and thereby rush to the defence of such open racists who wish to purify your glorious USA, push their targets out of the country. You chimed in to attack me and thereby divert away from the filth that is so clearly written. I do expect that, this is AnandTech's P&N. An ever proving home for racist and bigots.

District spokeswoman Micheline Golden did not confirm any details about who the district interviewed for the position.

But she said Beck was the best pick for the job and one of only four teachers in Fresno Unified with experience teaching the three cultural studies classes he'll be responsible for at Gaston.

He has a decade of experience teaching Latino Studies courses and two years of experience teaching African-American courses, Golden said.
So some guy who's the "right color" would have trumped the person with actual experience and.knowledge of the subject? LOL.. typical P.C. disease.
One of Beck's former students, Sabrina Fink, said it was "heart-wrenching" to hear he was the subject of the dispute.

Fink, a 2002 Hoover High graduate who is Hispanic, said she remembers Beck's enthusiasm and inspiring teaching style from taking his Chicano studies and Mexican history class. He'd frequently bring in speakers, write quotes and statistics on the whiteboard about Hispanic youth and organize culturally sensitive projects on traditional Mexican holidays.
What???? Not a blackboard? RACIST!

The obvious question about all of this: WTF is any of this bullshit doing in a middle school? How about just teaching the traditional Rs, rather than Race-based-bullshit 101?

Turning out more than our share of the world's most literate illiterates who'll no doubt be screaming in the streets eventually, mad that no one still stuck in this country with any money and a business is breaking down doors to employ them.

So Whiskey16 calls OP a troll, then trolls him, then gets called a troll which makes him troll the person who called him a troll. So the next event will be Whiskey16 trolling me? Or perhaps it doesn't work if you preemptively acknowledge it? Oh well, it's P&N.

Not to argue with the rest of your post and to disagree with you in particular but I see now problem with teachers of any race teaching those subjects as long as they are fully qualified.

nobody who's anybody sends their kids to public schools anyway, who cares?

You see 10 years ago this would never have been any type of possibility. But with the rise of right wing fundamentalism and Tea Partiers in the Republican Party even public schooling is under attack from fundamentalist conservatives. And let us guess if they would still require those who lost public schooling to be legally required to attend education.

I wholly and totally reject your self-perceived superiority. You are among the worst of the breed of progressives and as such your words are meaningless prog-babble. Your opinions have no value.

On the flip side, Karen Crozier is implicitly saying that black teachers are incapable of teaching European history. How progressive of her.

exactly. so i guess they should fire every black history teacher (except for African-American, Latino and Southeast Asian studies).

I didn't know that the color of your skin dictated what history you could teach! Thanks karen!

Report me, then.

If you have a problem with what I said, then quote me and directly address your angst.

Rather, I see you defending explicit xenophobic racism with a diversion for ungrounded personal attacks against me.

why does it matter one's color of their skin as long as they are qualified to conduct the task at hand?

Thank you, which was why my first post stated this:

michael1980, rather than stick to the contentious issue of the race of the instructort , you made your troll thread to admonish the presence of blacks and Hispanics in your country...

The OP is responsible for his tangent to racist and supremacist agenda. Yet a number here sympathise with his bigoted position choose to defend it by only attacking those who dare challenge explicit racism of targetting them [Blacks and Hispanics].
