Whitaker says he won’t testify unless Democrats drop their subpoena threat

Are the Democrats going to subpoena everybody that has talked to Trump, written an article etc.... This is really weak and desperate and is probably a tactic to keep the investigation from coming to conclusion or something.

What investigation does this keep from coming to an end? If you're referring to the Mueller investigation I don't see how this affects it in any way.

Sounds like Whitaker is a scared little bitch tbh.

Mueller might already have them, and even if that were the case I don't think it saves him. State of NY is still going to clean his clock.

Yeah we will. We have his taxes too. In an investigation the IRS has no authority to impede Congress. They'll be had.

How anyone [besides Trump] ever thought he was qualified in the first place is beyond me. He used to bilk investors over hot tubs and big dick toilet seats.

Thanks UNC..

I had to google out big dick toliet and now i have seen wayyy tooo much

I dont get this predisposition of "asking nicely" first. Normal people don't get asked nicely to appear in court. It comes via subpoena. That's how all this should be done - why beat around the bush?

It's customary courtesy to simply ask first. The vast majority of congressional testimony is provided voluntarily.

He went in for the prestige and is going out with Trump's shoe print on is ass, just like so many other Trump sycophants who felt the call of duty only to get used and abused by Trump and then get called over to Mueller's meat grinder for "processing".

With it so obvious that being associated with Trump is the kiss of occupational death, it seems rather hilarious that anyone would even entertain a passing thought about working for him.
They can all get jobs at Fox News, like Spicer, and I'm sure SHS has one ready through Daddy.

That's not true. Lots of witnesses wouldn't get a subpoena if they have a valid reason not to testify. Other people are perfectly willing to volunteer testimony. And a subpoena isn't necessarily a requirement to testify. If you have appropriate justification, it can be contested.

Damn right he is, did you see his flop sweat caught on camera the other day? Sweatin like Roy Moore at a girl scout convention

“Thank goodness the government shutdown is over. It means the janitors are actually getting paid for mopping up all that sweat that just poured off Matthew Whitaker.” - Bill Palmer 😀

I shouldn't laugh at people losing their composure over the slow realization of impending doom, but then again, we're talking about traitors and trump fluffers - so fuck'em.

He can still refuse to testify on executive privilege grounds even if subpoenaed, or he can plead the 5th and still not testify. IIRC the only way to "force" Congressional testimony from an uncooperative witness who would otherwise plead the 5th would be to grant immunity from prosecution thus making pleading the 5th moot. Then if he still refuses he can be held in contempt of Congress and jailed.

Contempt of Congress equals jail time?

so an acting AG is just "someone who may have talked to Trump."

k, sport.

Different rules for the elite. Or Whitaker.

So the dude is testifying and just told the Dem chair his 5 minutes was up. I don't even know this guy but that's the kind of moxie that all witnesses should show to Congress critters. "I'm here you answer your questions so stop grandstanding for the cameras and respect my time." Trump is an idiot and his admin is a dumpster fire but the idea that Congress critters should be kowtowed to like they're members of nobility needs to go. Hopefully he calls out some GOP Congressmen the exact same way.
