Mem, I hope you don't mind if I step in and voice a few opinions of my own.
You are about to become a moderator on this forum, and as such you should have a well balanced and educated opinion about the issues with which people have to deal, and be as objective and fair as possible.
All I could learn from your posts in the past few months is an absolute commitment to Vista. No matter what anyone says, you:
NEVER had a BSOD.
NEVER had to use System Restore in any OS.
NEVER had any issue with Vista 64.
NEVER had any hardware problems.
You have to acknowledge the fact that the World doesn't revolve around Vista. And in your case, any type of comment that might put Vista in a perceived negative light brings your strong resistance.
I would not want you to take this post as a personal attack - it isn't. But you are a very knowledgeable and valuable member of the AT community, and this type of "blind commitment" makes you less believable.
Hope you understand
Apoppin knows me better then you when it comes to my comments etc...as to my problems I have posted when I had problems with Stalker(had issue with certain map and quicksaves crashing) and The Witcher(crashing problem in full screen mode, think I was the first to post this in AT,however it was a common problem if you check the official Witcher thread),also lastweek I had a very minor Dungeon Siege issue ,I even posted a thread in PC gaming with the simple fix (apoppin can vouch for that)end of the day problems are quickly solved,PC and gaming by nature bring problems sooner or later, right now both my Vista x64 and x86 on my lappy are running sweet,as to hardware problems I have posted time and time again about all my hardware failures over the years ,however that's nature of owning a PC.
I never had to use System Restore so far in Vista x64 or Vista x86,never used it in XP either,I hope I won't ever have too.
Btw what has this to do with Vista?..apoppin and I were talking about accurancy of survey polls, end of the day they are only a very small percentage of the total.
You seem to jump to a lot of wrong conclusions about what I have stated both present and in the pass.
Blind commitment?...now you have lost me completely.
Btw here's the Dungeon Siege thread fix I posted
link. JustaGeek you need to pay attention to my problem threads when I post them

.
My old Witcher thread. ,notice I said
Checking their forums tells me I'm not alone in the crashing department, going to advance options like disabling Field of View etc did not help in my case.I'm pretty sure its a game issue since all my other games are fine and even Bioshock,Two Worlds etc are more stable,I guess its possible it could be driver related but doubt it.I expect a few more patches to appear since the game could of done with more stability tweaking ,I will go as far and say this game is probably my most unstable game I own (I don't say that lightly since 99% of my games don't cause me problems).
My opinion is a very good game(story, sound, graphics etc..) but has stability issues that need addressing ASAP,anyway if I find the cause I'll let you know.
The fix was to run in windowed mode in my case.
Btw I was talking about poll accurancy in this thread and also in general rather then Vista, but I guess you think I was talking about Vista when I was not, point being I expected the poll to have XP in front by a mile rather then Vista being in the lead last time I checked, that shows inaccurancy to me even for a very small survey like here in AT forums, now you know why I don't take survey polls serious. As to the Steam survey poll,I don't doubt the results, however it only represent a small 1.3 million gamers (how many gamers are in the real world?) my point being how accurate is it,you'll probably find XP has a bigger lead if Steam could survey all those gamers that were not included in the poll.
