I was thinking about doing that tomorrow at work if its dead. I'm not sure if e-mailing CS will yield an accurate answer, I guess its the only thing we can go on at this point. I'll probably just get a canned answer anyways.

I have been searching for an answer to this, but all I see are the articles about XFX keeping its warranty if the AUSUM switch is switched over... I've seen members post that Gigabyte and ASUS also cover it in their warranty, but I haven't seen any confirmation of this. I would imagine 2 weeks is enough time for the vendors to speak out about this, is XFX the only one to do so? Is that why it is more expensive when compared to the other vendor's 6990s?

If that is the case, I'll have to come up with some creative, AMD-hating title to catch reader's attention!
You see, there is no reason other than testing your luck with OCing 6990. I am not saying it can't be done, I am saying that there are no needs for it. It is as fast as the fastest card at shock bro, why risk it?

Let someone else test the water first. Until the warranty part is clear, and you still have the desire, then maybe try out the bios2.

I don't see anything that says flipping the switch voids the warranty.

I see something that says overclocking beyond factory specs voids the warranty.

But, both switch positions are factory specs. Flip the switch, but do nothing further, and you are running at a factory specified and provided setting. Therefore warranty is not voided.

I agree, so get your glasses out and figure out who your quoting or talking to. Because your making no sense.

I think you'll find its who 'you're' quoting and 'you're' making so sense. I'm sorry if English is not your native language. ;)

Hopefully owners that have trouble will post back in this thread there experiences. I believe the MSI 6990 newegg owner feedback has 2 or 3 owners experiencing system instabilities. Those are brand new and should be exchanged.

FFS Get it right 'their' experiences. Again, I'm sorry if Engish is not your native language

There is absolutely no reason for this manner of condescending tone and post to be made in public on a technical forum.

If you wish to provide these types of helpful advices and assistance then it is best handled privately by way of PM.

...but it was OK for Notty to belittle Skurge in the 1st place? Not very even handed.

1. I have no idea what you are talking about between Skurge and Notty...was it reported? (don't answer that here)

2. Mod-challenges are not acceptable in this venue. It is a thread-derail and is a violation of the posting guidelines.
