don't come to northwestern, unless you want to be a consultant or an ibanker.
Well I plan on going to business school after my undergrad and few years of work experience.

why would you want to be an EE major then? Its much more difficult to get any consulting or banking job as an engineering major. I'd suggest MMSS if you want to go to business school, those ppl get to pick their jobs.

I dont want a consulting or banking job. I want to be an entrepreneur. Northwestern is very respected in the business world and I think it will give me a good background.

Well I applied to Pratt, but I had to apply to Arts and Science at Cornell because I don't have a science SATII. I plan on transferring to Engineering if I go there, I've heard its not that hard to do so.

You are easily one of the most ignorant person on these boards. Duke is actually full of carpet-bagging northeners who didn't get into the Ivy league schools up north. It is, however, a rather beautiful campus.

The South is also home to many fine engineering schools including a top 5 one.

The jokes on you. Check people's locations before posting.

Cornell has the best engineering program of those, but from what I've heard, its borderline cut-throat up there.

Honestly, just tour the campuses and talk to students. Find out what they have to say about their school. Its usually the best indication.

Congrats on getting into such good schools, btw.

Yea their program is balls to the wall. They do not fcvk around, and with the grade deflation, it is very hard to get a higher GPA. But most companies know this and give you some leniency with your GPA.

All of them are top schools. They're all top 20 schools. Personally, I'd go to Duke since it's about the 5th best or so university. Cornell probably has the best EE graduate program, but for undergrad I'd go for the overall name - but they're all very close.

The people I've met from Cornell undergrad impressed me. They were top quality people. Can't say the same for the people I've met from NW or Duke.

3. Univ. California, Berkeley
4. Univ. Illinois Urbana Champaign
5. Univ. Michigan
6. Caltech
7. Georgia Tech
8. Purdue
9. Cornell
10. Univ. Texas- Austin
11. Princeton
12. UCLA
14. Univ. Washington
15. Rice
15. Virginia Tech
17. Rensselaer Polytech

17. Univ. California San Diego
20. Northwestern
21. Johns Hopkins
21. North Carolina State
21. Univ. Wisconsin- Madison
24, Penn State
24. Univ. Florida

As a Rice grad (not in EE) I would say consider Rice as well :)

Cornell is nice, but the Ithaca winters are hell. Ann Arbor winters aren't much better, but I ended up choosing Umich over Cornell, and I couldn't be happier.

Wow, great job in getting accepted into tough colleges. I commend your hardwork you went through in high school to get into those nice schools. I go to university of california, san diego, and i'm an EE here.

Go to Cornell. Among EE's, that's among the top schools, and also, recognized as a great school to go to for grad school.

congrats!!

EDIT: hmm I just saw your edit.

All those are great schools. I know NW and cornell provides awesome support for their students (i know people sho attended both schools' engineering depts; my bro and a grad student)

Check out both schools. Which environment do you like better? etc etc..

VT is 15th now? They were 19th when I applied.

Duke was 20th, I don't even see them on that list any more.

Rankings don't mean anything. I got into Purdue with a full ride merit scholarship, but I dont think anyone would tell me to go there over Cornell.

I took the hardest possible schedule (2 APs soph, 6 APs junior, 6 APs senior) and I've gotten only 1 B, the rest A's. It was in Spanish III Honors.

I got a 1580 SAT also.

You could take AP classes as a Sophomore? Which ones?

Nice SAT scores. :)
