Actually, I believe I may have mentioned this before, but we actually buy all software....indirectely. Think about the high prices that are charged, in part becuase of anticipation software piracy, etc. So whenever we interact with a government or private instituation that utilizes such high cost software (and raises prices on goods/services accordingly) we have in fact paid the manufacturer for software in the form of higher prices.

Now, if everyone were honest about it and actually bought software in stores, software would have the potential to be much cheaper than it is today. I believe the high price effect comes from the "anticipation" factor of piracy rather than piracy itself. If Windows came fully certified for 10 bucks a cd, IMO there would be little or no piracy.

Good point, freebee. I've never thought of it that way.

Thanks for paying for my software, guys! 😀

I've even registered Winzip... I'm a goody two shoes, ain't I? I wonder at which point I'll have to upgrade the license on Winzip - it seems to work on every version so far, and I paid for it something like 3 years ago? Damn good value! 😀

All games/apps/OS's I use are legit save for 2. And the two cost would cost ~1100 (combined). When I get a job (please god let me get a job) all my software will be legit.
