Well i hope some one couldhelp me decide on which of these mobos's OR even a differant one should be the best for me.

Things i need a mobo to have
PATA at least x1
Optical out
Good or even great overclocking
Trying to keep the price lower than $200.

GIGABYTE GA-965P-DQ6 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard
DFI INFINITY 975X LGA 775 Intel 975X ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P5W DH DELUXE/WIFI-AP LGA 775 Intel 975X ATX Intel Motherboard

Thank You

Any reason why you are considering two different chipsets there? (P965 vs. 975X)? If I could only choose 1 from that list, I'd go with the GigaByte board. What CPU are you planning on using?

Just from looking around over the last month these 3 seemed the best of. The Asus one is some whot over my price range though.

Another reason was to cut the price cost down but ends up near or just as high in price when looking for whot i need

Good overclocker
PATA x1
and Optical.

Cheers Fiat any reason for this ?.

Bad Axe 2 FTW. Fits all of your criteria and is a very stable board. Might be just over $200 with shipping though.

Beat me to it 🙂

If you are considering the P5-DW then tha Bad Axe2 is also worth consideration. The box version with 3 year warranty is $199.00 at some places and, while not as feature rich as the P5W-DH Deluxe WiFi + the kitchen sink, it's well priced and stable as a rock. At least worth consideration...

@ 3NF

I'm planing on getting a E6400

So ya saying the gigabyte one ? OR the P5 if i want devorce papers of my wife ? 😛

There is another Gigabyte one just not SLI but it don't have the heatpipe but is about $50 cheaper than the one with.
None SLI http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128012

Whot puts me of the DFI one is the cooling on it.
As for the Asus one it's pricy.

EDIT: @ Fiat1 P5N-E is to exspenive well one of them are the other does not have the Audio optical out for my ONKYO Amp. All though it has a coax problem is that this Silly house is not earthed correctly.. So probaly get the same problem i did with Phono's ( Slight buzz )..

Thanks for you replys 🙂

Get the SLI board if you think you're going to use SLI, otherwise, the P965 is a good chipset. I think you'll be happy with the GigaByte board. I have the Asus P5B-Deluxe board. The reason I chose that over the GigaByte board is because the GigaByte model apparently has a huge heatsink on the back of the board, which may restrict the installation of some CPU Coolers. That wasn't an issue with the Asus P5B-Deluxe board.
