I'm not too fond of Maynard James Keenan's voice. I mean, its definitely not painful to listen to, but I just think there are far better.

I'm hoping thats a joke!

No joke. He does have one heck of a voice for his size.

But there can be only one:

Barry White.

This is a really tough one....

really really tough..

Hmm....
best voice for what?

Among the most notable are:
Joe Cocker
Bob Dylan (sorry, but I can't stand his voice though)
Peter Gabriel
Roy Orbison <--- probably gets my vote
Geddy Lee (of Rush)
Sting
and I can't believe no one has suggested Bono yet. (and I don't mean Sonny)

Yeah, I like two of his songs. Two weeks ago, I downloaded a "Rick Astley Megamix" song, and it sucked.

I really don't know what I was expecting tho.

I think Maynard is overrated, I'm a fan of ohGr (ogre from Skinny Puppy). I think his vocals pwn Maynard.

You're right.... I missed the Bono... I got to Dylan, cringed, and went to the next post. But, as much as I hate Dylan, I have to admit he's got quite a voice.

Hey, how about Barry Manilow?

No poll, because there would have to be endless nominees. :)

i'd second maynard and serj, plus add thom yorke, jonsi (Sigur Ros), mike patton, the duo in The Blood Brothers, and the lead singer for Cursive.

oh damn, i forgot garfunkle, from simon and garfunkle. his voice isn't what it used to be, but back in the day, he had the most pure, golden voice around.
