Which is the Largest State in US? (in size, sq ft)

No link, but its defi itely Alaksa. I saw an image of the US with Alaska superimposed on the "Lower 48" and it stretched from NY to Texas. Its huge.

I think 5 Alaskas would make 1 "rest of" the USA. Montana is 4th biggest state, BTW. Fairbanks is 357 miles from Anchorage. One time I was 1000 miles away from my ex-wife, and we were both still in Alaska. Mt McKinley (aka Denali) is the largest mountain in North America. The Trans-Alaskan Pipeline is over 800 miles long and supplies 25% of the nation's oil.

By governmental decree, Alaska has 1 timezone, so that at noon in Fairbanks during daylight savings, the sun is in a 2:00PM position.

It's light outside right now (at 11:30PM) as we approach the summer soltice (June 21, usually). It doesn't really get dark at all for the next two months. We pay for this in the darkness of winter. Boy, do we pay. Fairbanks has one of the largest temperature variation, sometimes reaching +90F in the summer and -45F in the winter.

A lot of organizations in Alaska are "the farthest north" affiliate i.e. Girl Scout Troop 34 is the farthest north, and we have the farthest north Harley Davidson dealership, farthest north golf course, etc. etc.

Maetryx (me), ShotgunSteve, GrimmX, Jugernot, Nutdotnet and J3anyus are all Alaskans.

All you need to do is look at a globe, and there can be no argument that it's not Alaska. Maps, even world maps, are incredibly distorted due to the projection of a 3D Earth onto a 2D surface.

You've still only got 1 area code up there?

Lucky!

I know almost nothing's charged as a local call though, unless it's in the same city.

I can't believe it either. This is why, when foreigners say Americans are stupid, I generally do not disagree.

Ahahaha... the same can be said about them. They have no basis for judgement, as do we.

Texans are still bitter over Alaska becoming a state. They lost the title "Biggest state"

California is still considered "Coolest" state 😎
