That entire album was the best Metallica album of all time.

MoP is regarded by most as the best, my personal favorite is a tie between Damage, Inc or Disposable Heros
 
There's too many excellent songs to limit myself to pronouncing just one as the best.

Well, I think my personal favorite is Nothing Else Matters, but Sanitarium, Master of Puppets, Seek & Destroy, Creeping Death, Fade to Black, ...And Justice For All, and Harvester of Sorrow are all also near the top (and sometimes at the top depending on my mood). There's others, too. Too many.
 
why not include the self-titled album with the other "horrible" metallica albums? their self-titled marked the biggest changed in music style from previous albums, not load. just because *you* don't like the last 3, doesn't mean you should exclude them from any poll asking someone's opinion of their work.
