Which is more fun at college?

Living at home or living in the dorms? I live near the college i plan to attend so i want to know which of the two is more fun and better study wise.

Definitely living at home. You can go to class, walk home, take a hit from a bong and have your mommy make you brownies while you play WOW alone.

Dorms are more fun, but they're generally dirty and cramped w/ public bathrooms and all that BS that comes with it. Get an apartment.

Here is what I did

lived in the dorms for my freshman year. It was the best thing I ever did, helped me see the world.

2nd year I lived in my own apartment. Helped me develop cooking skills and more time management.

Then... my last two years I lived at home to save money 🙂

Coming from someone who started in an off-campus apartment (dorms weren't available for transfer students the year I started)...

Do at least your freshman year in the dorms. Most people make their close college friends from the dorms, so if you start off campus you will have a much harder time connecting with people. Admittedly it isn't as easy to study in the dorms, but it can be done well if you put the effort in. If you're not into partying don't sweat it, there are others who avoid it too. If you don't want to deal with drugs/alcohol issues, find out if your college offers a substance-free dorm.

Freshman year dorm friends are likely to be lifelong friends if you make any social effort at all. Live in the dorms!

Dorms, for a while.

Unless you throw massive parties at your house on a regluar basis.

And if you wanna be left in more debt than you otherwise would be, home.

alright, so i'll live in the dorms. what should i bring into my dorm? PC, DVD player, Xbox, PS3, mp3 player, TV, stuff like that?

The college i plan to go to is in a dry county.

which only means that the neighboring counties get a lot of revenue from alcohol sales. Do people at this college not know how to drive?

here are two ways to ruin your college experience:

1-live at home
2-no alcohol

I can't think of any better ways to waste college.

Condoms, beer, bong, mp3 player.

Ohh ya, and a #2 pencil.

work it out with your roommate(s). definitely your own computer, but there's not much point in having multiple tv's, xboxes, etc in a cramped dorm room.

the one absolutely necessary thing that I'd recommend that a lot of people don't think about is a good pair of headphones.

just pc and mp3 player. Dvd player and xbox are time wastor; and are easily stolen, when you're not in your room.
