ice skating is much harder, IMO. I roller blade. I can grind rails and go off jumps on blades, and feel pretty confident, but I cannot ice skate for the life of me...
They're about the same in my opinion. I started out with roller blading and whenever I go ice skating it takes me about 10 min to get comfortable. Only difference, to me, is the fact that most of the rental ice skates hurt my feet. Oh and stopping is different but you get used to it.
yea when i went from ice skating to rollerblading, it was no effort at all. and i was a barely average ice skater😛 having far less grip makes it far less inherently stable.
I've played roller and ice hockey and I think ice is a bit harder to skate. If the blade on the ice skate doesn't cut through the ice, you fall. On roller skates, the grip is there all the time.
i think ice skating is easier.. probably because i learned to ice skate before roller blade.. but they are very similar.. just as everyone has said..
only major difference is stopping.. and it's much more fun to stop on Ice skates.. and you can spray people when you get good..
