I use carrier pigeons. Despite the fact that I'm on a tech forum, I terrified of people thinking I might actually use modern technology, so I make sure everyone knows that I don't buy into fads like email, telephones and interwebs.
At work, Lotus Sametime. Rarely, Windows Live or Google Talk. I've somewhat reverted to old fashioned email as preference. Gmail is pretty good. Still keep some old accounts like hotmail but rarely use. Carrier pigeons..lol that's awesome. To hell with technology! 😀
also, I actually prefer talking to people.
I firmly believe that were it not for the previous decade of IM usage, and wee ones replacing social interaction with such, AT L&R forums would be a barren wasteland.
You guys need to keep in mind that Pidgin/Trillian/Adium/Miranda and others are not IM SERVICES - they are just a client... just making sure you know that when answering the polls.
Interesting that AIM still wins by a longshot. 2nd seems to be MSN. For some reason I thought it would be Skype. Interesting!
I use Digsby to connect to every single one of those on the list with the exception of Steam. I do use it, but I'm only on when I'm playing games. I don't log in to Steam just to sit in an online state.
I use AIM, MSN, Yahoo, and Gtalk. Use Pidgin on PC, (occasionally the web client for Gtalk) jitalk on my WP7, and that pretty much covers it. Metrotalk for GV texts on my phone as well.
