Here's my question. It seems that ALOT of people have trouble getting good contact between the hSF and the CPU in the Socket775 systems. What did you do to ensure proper mounting? Did you put the AS5 on the HSF then squish it on the mobo, or did you put the AS5 on the CPU? Also did you dot it or spread it? People do different things, but I am having one hell of a time getting good CPU contact. (I'm using the stock HSF now since the CNPS9500 wasn't much better it seems).

I also made sure not to over tighten the screws on the backplate which will cause the mobo to warp and ensure a crappy seat when you mount the HSF. You must not overtighten the screws!!!!
Followed the instructions on the arctic silver website. I also used Arctic Silver's Thermal Surface Purifier on the IHS as well as the XP90c. Then used a 1/2 rice kernal sized amount of the Arctic Silver 5 on the IHS and mounted my HSF. More is NOT better with Arctic Silver 5!!!!!

So you just dropped a bit of AS5 on the IHS and stuck the HSF on using the pressure of the HSF on the IHS to "spread" the AS5 around?
