a physical connector works the best. i have a Belkin one.. i just threw it somewhere because the sound is so bad, rather use my $40 headphones

Kind of hard for folks that have a CD player only...

OTOH if someone could develop a CD player adapter - imagine a disk device using a DLP type reflector to bounce the data into a CD player pickup. LOLzy
