Which FM transmitter is the best?

I'm going on a 12 hour road trip this week and would like to get a decent FM transmitter for my Ipod, I bought and returned the Griffin Itrip already because it was so bad, it was just non stop static and noise.

Anyone know of a good one?

Edit:
Well to answer my own question for those of you wondering the same thing, I got the Iriver Aft-100 and couldn't be happier with it, I turned it on to the default station of 88.3, plugged my Ipod into it and drove from South FL to North GA without any issues what so ever, I'm blow away with how well this one works, hands down better than the Griffin Itrip or any others I have ever tried.

If you're looking for an FM Transmitter this is well worth the $50 IMO.

Well none of them are going to sound great...

Do you have any options for physical inputs? I used the Pioneer bus connector on the back of my deck to install a pair of RCA jacks in my dash.

Viper GTS

It's not always the transmitter, but the signals in your town over-powering it. I had to change frequencies several times driving cross-country.

griffin is VERYYY bad. I dont know any good ones, its something that various transmitters can work variably for each person.
If you have a cassette deck, i would HIGHLY recommend a cassette adapter....works perfectly without any noise or extra disturbance. BUt if you have a CD player....just try one of those that ppl recommend here and see which works better for u

Well I have a direct in line with my Alpine head unit but thats not an option after hurricane Wilma did a number on my Tahoe 🙁

So the GF and I are going in her car which only has a stock CD only head unit with no tape deck.

That one looks pretty good.

Guess I should note also that I need it from a local store since I'm leaving Friday and any online order wouldn't make it in time for the trip.

I got Best Buy, Circuit City, and CompUSA all next to each other plus all the other regular stores.

just go there, and pick one...
seriously...its doesnt matter which one. You need to try each and see which works. you have till friday to test most of them.
A lot times it depends on which works with certain cars..depending on antenna location, and place where you will put the ipod, etc. so test drive it. buy a couple or so from best buy since they have the easiest return policy so far.

Unless i read it wrong you can only broadcast to 87.9fm with that fm transmitter which is bad, i use a belkin tunecaster 2, digital display and you can use any freq from 87.9 to 107.9, works nice.

I picked the one made by Monster Cable after seeing it having the highest reviews of the available iPod transmitters on Amazon.

I've tried a number of the Belkin ones, and two or three other brands, and never did find one that worked real well. The best one I found was the Monster brand also (even though I don't care for the overprice Monster stuff), but it was still not very good.

I ended up getting a FM modulator like someone above mentioned and that took care of the problem. Ended up mounting it in the trunk and running wires to and from the front seat. Was able to hide the wires pretty easily and it kept me from having to tear the dash apart to install the stupid thing. The one I got is from Crutchfield, and the price is good considering how much better it is than an FM transmitter.

I assume you don't have a cassette adapater since your aren't going that way.
