Every summer, when I have money, I join the Columbia House DVD Club. I get DVD's for super cheap due in part to DVDTalk's forums. It's DVDTalk.com, and check the DVD Bargains forum for the thread about getting the best deal.

The Mummy: Ultimate Edition is good too. Decent price, good flick, lots of extras.

Gladiatior 2 disc version is worth the money. Lots of deleted scenes, a documentary on Gladitor Bloodsports (might be from learning channel), and a making of featurette.

<< The IMAX image is ten times larger than a conventional 35mm frame and three times bigger than a standard 70mm frame. The sheer size of an IMAX film frame, combined with the unique IMAX projection technology, is the key to the extraordinary sharpness and clarity of an IMAX film. >>

yakko, that's why I put the question mark. I don't know anything about the different film formats, I just know that it produces a superior picture. Thanks for the info, though.

I normally buy the movies I really love on DVD (e.g., it's worth seeing it more than 2x). I can't believe that hasn't been a year since my siblings and I got our DVD player and now we have a total of 30+ DVD movies! That may not be a lot to some of you, but to us, it's bigger than our original VHS collection!

Some of my favorites are:

Spaceballs
Austin Powers (1 & 2)
The Saint
Mystery Men
Dogma
Center Stage
Sleepless in Seattle
MIB
The Last Starfighter
Clue

[edit: added Clue!] :)

Like MrBond I have picked up several (over 230) DVDs for cheap thanks to the DVDTalk.com DVD Bargains forum.

Recently I picked up The Mummy, X-Men, Gone in 60 Seconds and more for only $9.99 (sorry sale is over).
