which desktop notes program do you use?

like keep track of things, or making a list, etc.

need something thats stable with winXP, etc.

EDIT: um...i meant one of those sticky notes things on ur dekstop

If you use Konfabulator, there is a "Sticky Note" widget that works pretty well. You can move it, resize it, change it's colors, etc...

If I need to save a quick list or a note I just save it as a draft in Gmail, and I have it anywhere I am.

Why all the reinventing of the wheel. Either buy a package of real sticky notes, or use notepad. No sense in overcomplicating things.

dont wanna clutter my already cluttered desk with hws, etc...which I always seem to have done, but never able to find on time ;)

but there are NO standalone programs?

Google Desktop has this:

Scratch Pad: Type and save notes for yourself. The Scratch Pad automatically saves itself whenever you type a character in it, so don't worry about remembering to save it. In Options, you can save your notes to a file or clear the Scratch Pad.

i use the calender...
but the notes are always in the 'Notes' section. which defeats its point...i want them...right ther eon the desktop...so they can remind me of things that i need to do.
And no, i dont want to havbe like 5 notepad files, which i would never open.

cmon, i swear there was a program i used to use abt 5 yrs ago...but didnt need it as much back then
