obviously the 80's since i was born then.

it's sad that kids now a days don't know about saturday morning cartoons or comic books like they used to be. or collecting/trading pogs and baseball cards. or super soaker water fights. so much awesome shit from then.

80's were great. So much fun, so much innovation, such great music. And if you were a kid in the 80's, so care-free!

I'll go with the 80s, and I didn't especially like the 80s. You had the marvel of computer games, but the activity of earlier decades, and parents weren't control freaks the way they are now.

Im a 90s kid. So you know what I gotta say.

Nickelodeon had the best shows on Kid's TV. I never missed a block of Snick programming. I loved watching Re-runs of Pete and Pete and Roundhouse.

I remember having my first kiss in the slide at the park with a kid named Paul...who grew up to be a creepy fucker. I hadn't seen him since after we kissed (This was 4th grade lol) and then one day, I was walking through the hall in HS and there he was. I pretended like I didn't see him...but he sure saw me and I felt his damn eyes watching me. He was interested in rekindling whatever he thought we had back in 4th grade. It wasn't even that big of a deal, I just pecked him on the lips. Boys are weird.

Yuck.

80s were the peak of American Dream, childhood or not, the 70s and 90s were great too. Its been downhill since early 2000s.

I'd say the 1950's, but I grew up in the 80's and 90's. What ever happened to Rocko's modern life, Ghost Busters and GI Joe? Cartoon Network sucks except for [Adult Swim], Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry and Regular Show.

80's. Arcades, computers, movies, cartoons, great music and awesome hairstyles.

Unfortunately I was born in 1984, but I still consider myself a child of the 80's. Most of the movies I watched, games I played etc. as a child were from the mid-late 80's. I really hated (still do) 90's music.

80s. We got to run around and do whatever we wanted unlike kids of today. But also got disciplined if we did something wrong unlike kids of today. Funny enough a lot of those kids are being raised by kids who grew up in the 80s.

Best how?

Each decade has it's good and bad points.

I was a kid in the 50's and 60's...so for me, the 60's were probably the best...but I can see why some think the 70's were pretty damned good too.
The 60's was the decade of EXCITING space exploration...OMFG! We started with monkeys...and by the end of the decade, we put a man on the moon!
Of course, there was that pesky Vietnam War...but that didn't affect TOO many kids...unless their father, brother, or other family member had to serve.

The 80's sucked...as did the 90's. Yes, computers, computer games, and video game consoles came into their own...but those are both good and bad...geeks lost touch with the outside world...and kids no longer play outside as much as they used to do...which is also good and bad.

Nobody bothered to do a "That '50s, or '60s, or '80s Show", starring Mila Kunis. It was "That '70s Show"!

First decade of this Centrury is probably on of the worst.

I say the 90s -- when the NBA was on NBC with that legendary music and probably the best decade of basketball!

Bring back the NBA on NBC!!

80s and 90s because NES and SNES. /thread

Hell even Genesis. I vividly recall Toy R Us or KB Toys and places like that with the kiosks showing Altered Beast and the awesome new 16 bit generation just launching and the floor to ceiling walls of games instead of the puny shelves they have now.

And what was that Captain Nintendo store or whatever, I remember seeing Zelda II on a similar kiosk.

Sigh...

Yeah, in terms of great popular music the 1960's win. Fortunately, a lot of that was recorded.

Exactly. That is why as a child of the 90s I picked 80s.

The 80's, because mainstream computer technology was new and it seemed like it had no upper limit. There was a nasty recession in '82 and in '87, but other than that is was awesome. Great TV shows, great games, great toys, so-so music :p You had to go to the 70's if you're a music fan.
