The 80's were hands down the best years for me. Starting with the movies, to the music, to everything else going at the time, to Garbage Pail Kids (still love them to this day), G I Joe, Transformers, Thundercats...etc. I could go on all day about why the 80's were the best years.

In terms of music alone, the 60's are a tie for 1st place.

Duck Tales, Tail Spin, Rescue Rangers hell yeah!

SOOOOOOOO MUCH THIS!!!!!!! I know that those are from the very late 80's to 1990, but they weren't aired here in Denmark until the mid 90's. Back then we didn't have 10 different channels with round the clock cartoons like kids today, we had "Disney sjov(fun)" on DR1 for 1 hour every friday evening at 7. you looked forward to that the entire week. I think in a lot of ways growing up here in Denmark in the 90's was a lot like the US in the 80's.

we had consoles and a single family pc with dial-up and all that, but parents made a huge fuzz about only playing video games for like an hour a day, the rest of the time we played outside. McDonald's was something you had once in a blue moon and fat kids were someone you picked on, now everybody is fat and plays video games all day long. the generations after mine really went downhill fast. I know people keep saying that but I honestly believe 90's kids was the last generation before things really took a turn for the worse.

basically, we have people describing the things they did as children during whatever decade they happened to be children.

so the real answer to the best decade to be a child is...the decade that you are a child.

I discount technology, because it's always improving. Kids of today have the internet, which is leaps and bounds above the video games of the 80s.

The 60s sounds like it was a pretty good time to be a kid, from what I hear.

Yea, it was, we all gathered after school for "gasp" outdoor activities, you actually knew your neighbors, there were 3 TV stations and a couple of UHF but that's it, in winter board games prevailed, Monopoly, 21, checkers and chess, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah...
