I signed up in 1999 and pay $10/month for 50 gb or whenever I hit 50 gb first.

8 connections at a time, gone up to 15 mb/second before.

Download a dvd full of mame pretty fast.

They have a web interface as well and you can check usage online.

www.newsreader.com

does their web interface allow full searching across groups like easynews?

I don't believe so. I just go to the newzbin website and search there. Then i can add that group and download from there. I use newsleecher and just set it and forget it.

Btw, he's changed it to $9.99/month for 30 gb or whichever comes first.

do you search posts or files on newzbin? it seems like it costs money to search the files...

I use newshosting, was thinking of switching to digirock because it's $13.95 and it has it's own nzb search, but I still have like 80 days of newzbin paid for.

Any of the major Usenet providers will do. All of them have at least 30 days of retention and over 95% completion. And since most of them are monthly, just try each of them for a month and switch.

it's cheap i'll say... but retention at around 9 days doesn't cut it unless you're always looking and dling...

Works great for me. Personally, I think anything over 5 days retention is gravy. If you havent gotten what you wanted in 5 days, you probably dont need it. If you need it and its gone from the list in over 5 days, re-request it. I thought 9 days was pretty long for retention actually.

Because you're not logged in. Trust me, newzbin > easynews.

Secondly, I used Newshosting's unlimited plan for quite awhile, but I just switched to NewsDemon.com, and I get better speeds. On Newshosting I'd get about 2.78-2.84, and on NewsDemon I get 2.90-2.92.

I get 5 mbps using only 4 of the 8 connections.

I blame you! 😛

I wouldn't doubt if that's because you are in NYC and I'm in BHM.

Giganews, without a doubt. A bit pricey, but worth every penny.

Easynews is a VERY close second. Their web interface rocks. If you can do with the relatively low GB limits, the price isn't bad for the level of service.

I am hoping giganews goes up to $29.95

You've been around long enough to know that imtim83 is retarded, no?

I ditched Newshosting.com because there speeds really started to suck. You can PM for my new host that totally rocks Unlimited 8 Pipes do not want to post it to a public BBS.
