Best way to compare monitors is to go to a store where they have them on display (pardon the pun) and just LOOK at the differences, if this is at all possible.. Personally, I have the Sony CPD-G500 21" .24dp 2048x1536 monitor -- best upgrade I've ever made and it was well worth the extra bucks over other brands/models.. As for the lines, what lines would be my response, not because they aren't there, but simply because after awhile you just don't even notice them unless you are looking for them.. IMO, that REALLY shouldn't sway you one way or the other as there are other more important things to consider.. The other thing to pay less attention to unlike other pieces of hardware is the price.. Yes, you should only spend what you can spend, but if there's one thing not to "cheap" on, that would be, imo, the monitor..
