Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, Guam, no one born in these places (along with a few other minor Pacific Islands) need a green card because anyone born in those locations are automatic US citizens.

I think its a hell of a good idea for NCAA basketball fans, if you don't like the fact that your opponent has recruited some African or third world player, deport the son or a daughter of a bitch, its the American fair way triple standard way to insure victory. And prevent players like Manike BOL from becoming good will ambassadors for their nation and the USA.

You guys realize many nations of the world on not contiguous and your citizenship doesn't depend on being in the country proper.

The green card is about being an authorized 'American' more or less and later leading to full-citizenship if one wants it.

They don't pay federal income tax, but pay FICA/Medicare. They don't have a voting member in Congress but they have a non-voting commissioner. They also don't vote in presidential elections but they do for the primaries.

Sports has a strange way of bringing out the worst aspects of humanity. Steve Kerr's father was killed in the Middle East before an NCAA Tournament game and some opposing fans started chanting "P-L-O" at him. People start riots after soccer games or hockey games, burn property, beat the shit out of each other, etc... Honestly, with all the horrible things fans have done at sporting events, racism seems pretty tame by comparison, which is sad. Oh well. Maybe after being made a national spectacle, these kids will realize the error of their ways. Probably not, but one can hope.
