where's your favorite vacation destination in the US?

key west was fun, I also liked Galveston TX. Grand Canyon is Classic, vegas is fun if you have $$

Beautiful place, unfortunately travel is too expensive to go more often.
 
For me: the couch/bed at my own house.

When I really need a vacation, what I need is just a break from work, rest time to spend around with friends/family, time to take care of projects that I've pushed back, and time to just relax.

When I want an adventure, I couldn't care less where I go. In the last 8 months I've taken vacations to Manhattan, Boston, San Diego, Kansas City (twice), Pella Iowa, and small towns in Nebraska. All were equally good as they all met my need for adventure.
 
I don't have a single favorite place but one of my favorites is Treasure Island, FL. My wife and I vacationed with my parents and my sister & her family there the past 2 years. Very relaxing and a nice slow pace. It doesn't have much of a nightlife but it does have a very nice charm. We stayed here.

Key West is really nice. Beautiful place. I jetsking with my friends there and it was a lot of fun.
 
Its actually my own home.
With the phones turned off, the doors locked and the blinds closed.

Just me , a six pack, some doughnuts and the tv with a good movie.

Pure heaven.
 
I never go anywhere for vacation. I just stay home and play with my computer or my wife...sometimes both. 😉

This year I'm going to a conference in Puerto Rico, so I'm bringing the wife. This will be the first time we've gone anywhere together.

Not counting Hawaii, the outter banks have a place in my heart. I cant wait to go back, nothing like being able to surf really good waves with nothing but sandunes around.
 
There's a small camping island on Lake Belle Taine in Minnesota called "Camper's Paradise"... Its great, peaceful, and away from phones and internet... Unless we break out the cantenna and borrow a cup of WiFi from accross the lake.
 
Do the US Virgin Islands count? 😉

If not, I'd have to say Port Aransas/Mustang Island, TX.
I've been going there for as long as I can remember.

At this time it would be Disney World, for the way my little girl lights up when we go there and visit her friends the princesses.
