I thought Crusader was Rollo? Wasn't he the guy that showed up when Rollo was getting roasted and said he had been lurking for five years without joining the forums, and decided he had to join to defend Rollo? I have always assumed they were the same person.

The mods have checked into my account many times and have found no evidence that I'm Rollo. Because I'm not.
If you petition the mods to check into it again, they'll prob tell you no because I've been investigated time and time again.

I'm not Rollo. I know hes like finding the holy grail to you guys.. but hes no longer posting here.

You can find him as a mod at Nvidias official forums and Geforce3d.net.
And I can tell you, if you wish to get his thoughts, or argue with him.. he wont ban you. He seems like a pretty good man to me even though he did lie here about being a member of AEG. He no longer is affiliated with AEG, and simply works directly with Nvidia.
He didnt have a choice anyway, because he never wanted to hide the AEG affiliation like the other members.. as he saw nothing wrong with it.
I dont either, its simply a way for Nvidia and ATI to have a direct connection with the fanbase.

Both ATI and Nvidia still have some sort of "street team" out there.. some of which I dont doubt are here in AT, right now. I'm not by the way, I simply lean Green due to their consistent product execution on both the driver and hardware side of things.

He was a great resource here because he can bench multiple cards, did custom benchmarks for people, and can forward driver issues ect to Nvidia engineering.

Bashing Nvidia and AEG is to bash ATI as well.. as they both do it. The shame is that ATI and Nvidia hide their consumer connection teams.

Sure, its marketing. But you cant stop it.. if you can tell me how.
The pros outweigh the cons anyway as you get direct connection to ATI and NV on the "hard questions" that people like Anand/Kyle Bennett cant ask because they dont want to lose favor with ATI/NV.
They start bashing too hard on ATI or NV.. they're business will start to falter because if ATI or NV gets mad enough.. bye bye advance knowledge and goodies to test that your opposition will get.

All in all, I dont mind direct Nvidia engineering connections or direct ATI engineering connections.

What I'd like to see, are the actual Nvidia and ATI engineers arguing online in threads.
Competition reveals the truth, and market competition reveals better prices. Kicking out or banning these people is a bad idea.

Let Rollo battle with Ackmed. Then the crowd can decide what the better choice is. Eliminating Rollo allows Ackmed to run this place full steam. Not good for the consumer.

You're insinuating that Ackmed works for ATi which he does not therefore your comparison is flawed, much like the majority of your posts.

Rollo was a very good/personable guy. He was always willing to lend a helping hand (Whatever it the issue was).

Its a shame that he was caught up in the AEG "scandal".

caught up in it?
:Q

he created it, singlehandedly 😛

i do not doubt he is a 'good guy' . . . but he proved that he does not fit in here at ATF.

maybe i should head over to GeForce3D.net . . .

maybe not

😀

He went over to the HardOCP forums and then ended up getting banned from there too 🙂

What did he get banned from there for? Wait aren't they like Anandtech's sister site? That would explain it I guess. Do you know if he is currently at a forum that hasn't banned him?

he might be at nvnews, i dont think they would ban him there

He's not, unfortunately, BUT look at his sig

I remember that too. I joined and Rollo (who wasn't banned at the time) was still creating threads, etc... Good times, good times... 😛

He must have gotten banned in the beginning of 06 cause I remember that he wasn't "exposed" as AEG yet in Dec.

And yea, then he "came back" as Fallenangle I think???? with his "proxy sever"
Wonder if he still checks this place out.

Guys, this is supposed to be the Video Forum. Let's leave the "Where's Waldo?" ponderings in Off Topic and stick to discussing Video hardware.

Sorry Crusader, I wasn?t making an accusation, just voicing what I thought was a common opinion. I should have qualified my statement a bit more clearly.

We chaged the Video forum to include Off Topic while you where gone. It seams like a good fit and brings more interesting conversation then "When will DX10 cards come out". Hope you don't mind.

Feel free to look through the countless other video topics though I am sure there will be one to fit you fancy.

And you are a source of infinite wisdom, kid :disgust:
You, personally, have no idea for sure if Ackmed works for ATI or not. Though nothing of the sort was "insinuated", thats YOUR issue with reading into things. I'm merely stating both of them appear to be very vigilant in defending their preferred product lines.
Merely an observation. Ya tool.

To most of us that would be a subtle hint to reconsider our posting "style". Just food for thought, take it how you want...

you can catch him @ nvnews forums

GloryField,

I see one of three possibilities-

1. Your account got nuked in the "purge".

2. You forgot your login info and ended up just starting another account.

3. Who were you before you were banned?

The funny thing is that the only reason i started to go to anandtech was when that whole thing on the 6800 series cards, purevideo or what ever got exposed. So Rollo was one of the reasons cause he kept the issue alive with his endless promises of how the issue will be fixed next week lol.
Meh i desided to join a while later, though if i read i might as well post.

Meh...😛

Well now we know the true nature of the Nvidia 'contact' he had.
AEG allowed Nvidia plausible deniability on such issues and cover to provide false info under the guise of 'helpful contacts'.

I vote we leave Trollo buried in the past where he belongs.

QFT way too much bias pulls out benchmarks to prove his point then ignores others (AA+HDR and SM3 come to mind)
