hahaha funny. theres really nothing to report. most of the action was fast and furious with updates 3-4 times a day. it really has slowed down now with there being a formal investigation. I don't have to do anything but sit back and wait.

as for the rental situation the LL and myself have been trying to work something out that will be beneficial to the both of us. we are trying to avoid using our attorneys because they're are expensive and the process will be long and drawn out.

we traded emails and i have yet to reply to his latest. i was waiting for him to fix the backyard before I replied. So he sent me a message saying he would come this past saturday to fix it. I assumed he would come early but I got a text at 330 saying he would be at the house by 4. I had my entire family over for a BBQ and it was a perfect time that everyone could say hi to him. Unfortunately he got scared and sent me a text that he saw we were having a party at the house and would come some other time. oh well

I have a hard time following what is going on. What are you suspecting- that LL is lying all along and he cashed in the check himself?

That is option #1.

Option #2 is that someone other than the LL; known to Chase and tied to a LL Chase account cashed the check.

That person either
2a - refuses to fess up to the LL
2b - the LL has his suspicions, but needs proper backing to confront the perp
2c - is the LL wife and all hell will break loose.

Option #3 - Chase was negligent and cashed a check without verification of the customer.

Yeah, sorry. It has slowed down a lot. I left messages with the detective and he hasn't returned my calls. Not sure if thats a good or bad thing.

On a side note, the landlord has started to fix some things around the house. I was going to make a side thread to update everyone with whats going on with us (if anyone is interested).
