Give Alky a break ... he lives vicariously through others ... and right now that is you!

I dont appreciated being called a lier even if its being done indirectly. I've been upfront and honest in every single post. I have copied the messages exactly and the only things that were removed was the personal information.

...OP goes to his bank/police and both say renter's obligations have been met...

YEEEAUUUP!

Glad to see that at least the real world people you're dealing with (besides LL, of course) have a little common sense and understanding of "How a Check Works".

Lulz that he wants you to fill out an Affidavit for something you don't believe to be true, and the fact that he refuses to initiate a police report hints that he's got at least an idea of what went on...

Sucks though...hopefully you're not in a long term lease.

PLEASE understand the following: WE (everyone but a certain member who will go un-named) believe that you are being 100% truthful in you telling of this tale. There are some that enter threads to cause mayhem. Do not be a victim of this trolling.

this doesn't match above story here at all...

And you wonder why people think you are a troll.

This thread gives you a perfect example. It is obvious that many people don't agree with you. However, that is irrelevant. What is relevant is that the OP doesn't want your advice nor has he taken it.

A "NORMAL" person that wasn't trolling would just move on. You stated your case. It was ignored. Move on. Anything else is just you being obsessive at this point or trolling.

You know what, many people don't agree with me in real life too, but I am still right.

I have friends with rentals. My parents did rentals. So many tenants are fuck ups.

If you look up the 4 and 8 year old whose mom left them alone for 2+ hours in palm beach county this past week, that was one of my friends rentals. They were talking lawsuit too over it, but they left quietly and then got arrested.

Most renters are those that we could do without. Especially when they brag about how awesome they are.

I am dealing with a neighborhood that never allowed renters. Now we do. It's really messed up how it is now. Many decided to leave their dogs out all day and night...illegal here. They too complain about it as a violation of their rights.

More evidence. Ignore the core part of my post and argue with the irrelevant part.

People don't care about your "knowledge". Your advice is falling on deaf ears when it comes to the OP. Why are you still posting in this thread?

EDIT: Timewarp. Don't know how that happened in vbulletin.

What is the problem with the TJ synopsis above?

Last week, I ran the same scenario through my bank and they came up with the same conclusion

someone claimed they finally had the check and then it went to someone else's account?

and you were the only person to validate that check and you said "F U! pay me brah!"

then the court said "you paid?"

Dude, I can't stress this enough, limit any interactions with Alky to ten seconds or less. In the remaining time that you typed that post you could have been doing something far more constructive, like looking at random cat pictures on the internet or resorting your stamps in alphabetical order.

you'd lose in a court room though. OP took that property.

But since you think you are right like half of the US is about to win perfect places to live since *again* you are so right!

You will be the next messiah!

Check wasn't deposited at LL's bank. It was deposited/cleared at a different bank from both LL and OP.

With the EXACT same acct# the LL had??, what bank would accept a check for deposit already endorsed and with an acct# already written on it?,well if it did somehow happen OP had zero to do with it and I wouldn't trust the LL as far as I could throw him, he's a proven lying POS..

I usually don't pass judgment on anyone and try to give people the benefit of the doubt but alky you have 70 posts in this thread compared to my 85. You ask questions and when I answer them you just pass them over. You then start to argue with other people further derailing the thread. By definition you are trolling this thread.

Do you have anything constructive to say? Any words of wisdom?

I've posted the facts as they are right now. I've given you the backstory of this home and the issues that I am dealing with the LL.

If you have nothing further to add then I'm going to take the advice of others and put you on block.

Yes, apparently that's what happened.

So I got this email today from the LL

TJ,

You have not responded to my last two requests, sent March 15th and March 16th, regarding March's rent payment of $2,500.00 which I have not yet received.
It has been determined by Citibank that a affidavit of forgery be signed and returned to them. At that point they will collect the funds from J.P Morgan Chase bank. Once you have received said funds, the March rent payment can be made. Until then March's payment will be considered not paid, and action will be taken.
Let me know a day and time that is convenient for you to bring the form and have it signed.

I have CC'd my attorney on this email for his records.

Thank you,
Landlord

Wow, your LL just keeps at it with that shovel of his. Let him keep digging his hole. You paid him, he acknowledged receipt of the check.

Not your issue.

Reply to him that no further cantact should be made to you. instead direct him to your attorney and forget him.

to continue to talk to the guy would be a mistake.

This. I assume he has an opinion on this matter.

I just called him but he wasn't in the office. I left a message with his secretary. I was trying to keep the lawyers out of it but I guess the LL is forcing me to go that route. If so, then I am going to sue him for all attorney fees

Tell your LL that you have not received the funds that were deducted for the March payment. Once those funds are re-deposited and then verified by you via Chase that the funds are legit, you will resend the rent payment. After all, you do not want the funds being yanked from your account by someone stating that their was a fraudulent withdrawal of funds that was sent to you. :p

You are willing to waive the verification when he identifies/explains how the funds ended up in Chase over his signature you.

After all he was jerking you around for 16 days; you can do the same to him.

Your landlord sounds pretty much like every landlord I've ever had living in NY.

I should make a show called undercover tenant and expose shitty landlords with zero mercy.

Mercy insinuates the tenant screwed up. I PROMISE you that there are more crappy tenants than crappy landlords.

As a landlord, I will give people one chance for some screw up... Late rent, crap happens, I get it.. one time every 3-4 years. The second time eviction starts at day 14 after unpaid rent.
