Often the income you earn working at the college you're attending does not have to be reported on your taxes...

i don't think so.... you are exempt from SS taxes, but you still have to pay income tax.

i'm hoping to get 10-15 dollars an hour. i have some prior work experience with data entry, and 2 potential references. (both of them liked me)
That is worth $7-8/hr around here. I make $13 and I design programs that save my company hundreds of thousands of dollars a month.

Welcome to the real workforce.

commisson is gonna fluctuate, during holidays you can probably make alot but on slow weeks its gonna suck.

plus you have to be a good salesman :)

Well... he knows computers... so i'm guessing that already puts him above most of the computer salesmen working there. :D

But commisions on computers have to suck since the markup on a pc is around 40$

Yea, you won't make any money selling computers. Printers, cameras, and other accessories is where you'll make money.

but working retail is where you save money by getting microsoft discount.

so you're doubly good. :)

hmm... i guess it's time to start drafting out my resume.

I'd hire you for the rate you are looking to get. However, you live on the other coast. But, if you were to work for me, you'd get a boatload of on-the-job training which would allow you to branch off on your own in a few years and start commanding $40+ per hour. :)

enjoy real cash

More like:
- Go to college
- Get what you assume to be a real job
- Be a corporate "whore" and make "OK" money
- Backstab friends in order to get ahead in your career
- Surf the Web for endless hours when projects are not handed to you due to "dry" spells at work
- Eat a big lunch
- Get sleepy at 1:00 P.M.
- "Fake" like you're working ... while trying to keep your head from hitting the desk
- Leave the office at 5:00 P.M.
- Rush home
- Realize you didn't accomplish very much during the day
