Colleges usually have plenty of student jobs, although they often don't pay very well. Try waiting tables or something.

Often the income you earn working at the college you're attending does not have to be reported on your taxes...

i don't think so.... you are exempt from SS taxes, but you still have to pay income tax.

So am I. It is next to worthless in the Job market.
i'm hoping to get 10-15 dollars an hour. i have some prior work experience with data entry, and 2 potential references. (both of them liked me)
That is worth $7-8/hr around here. I make $13 and I design programs that save my company hundreds of thousands of dollars a month.

Welcome to the real workforce.

commisson is gonna fluctuate, during holidays you can probably make alot but on slow weeks its gonna suck.

plus you have to be a good salesman 🙂

Well... he knows computers... so i'm guessing that already puts him above most of the computer salesmen working there. 😀

Yea, you won't make any money selling computers. Printers, cameras, and other accessories is where you'll make money.

so you're doubly good. 🙂

for FRYs? lol... i just showed up there with nothing in hand...tie and shirt... answered about 3-5 of their questions... and i was basically in. 😀 Until i told them i can't come to work until after 2pm... and they said try again next time. 😕

At my local Best Buy, The security door greeter hands out applications to the incoming patrons because they are that desperate for help.

I'd hire you for the rate you are looking to get. However, you live on the other coast. But, if you were to work for me, you'd get a boatload of on-the-job training which would allow you to branch off on your own in a few years and start commanding $40+ per hour. 🙂

More like:
- Go to college
- Get what you assume to be a real job
- Be a corporate "whore" and make "OK" money
- Backstab friends in order to get ahead in your career
- Surf the Web for endless hours when projects are not handed to you due to "dry" spells at work
- Eat a big lunch
- Get sleepy at 1:00 P.M.
- "Fake" like you're working ... while trying to keep your head from hitting the desk
- Leave the office at 5:00 P.M.
- Rush home
- Realize you didn't accomplish very much during the day
