Hiding them in a folder isn't going to do anything.

You could change the file extension from .mkv, .avi, .mpg, .flv, etc.

Make them .dat files or something. Might help a little bit more than just putting them in an OS folder somewhere.

You need to use encryption to really make them inaccessible to others

just make an encrypted container with truecrypt?

even if someone sees it, they can't get into it. just label it tax returns or some other innocuous name that you'd want to protect, but noone would want to access.

Might help to let us know what OS you, I mean your friend, is using?

Assuming Windows, there are many methods to do this. Just try googling "windows (version) create hidden folder" and you will get all sorts of suggestions and how to videos.

Put them on your desktop and rename them "AOL 30 Day Trial".
Give them a shortcut icon and hide file extensions.

Truecrypt container

maybe give it a random name that looks like hex and then make it a hidden file in the \Windows directory.

Or if you don't want to use encryption, just change the name as above and change the file extension so that you have to know it's a video file in order to open it.

Use TrueCrypt to create an encrypted file container.

edit: a few people beat me to it.

Something like 2c37fd9e48b in the application data folder of your user profile would probably be a good start.

It doesn't matter what kind of porn it is if you're a kid trying to hide it from your parents, or a wife/husband trying to hide it from your husband/wife.
