Don't know why the dude above buys ties at Macy's. BB ties are some of the only ones left that are still made in the US. Good quality and not that expensive.

They have their Father's Day sale going now, 40% off.

i buy mine at macy's because they're much cheaper. and i tend to spill coffee, soy sauce, noodles, and cooking oil on them.

For ties you can try www.tierack.com

For shirts and ties, I go to:

JCPenney's
Macy's
Land's End (nice shirts and decent ties for a good price on each)

Brooks Brothers is nice for a more "conservative" shop

Men's Wharehouse is nice too but kind of pricey

I usually get my dress shirts from Express. Fit better on me than any other I've worn. Right now they have it for $29.95 each or something when you buy 3 or more.

Ties, usually Macy's.

I think i made a silly choice buying my first real suit from the mens warehouse. It's not terrible, but i feel now that I could have spent a little more and have gotten much better quality.

And after reading this thread, im returning the two shirts and ties i got from there. The shirts were 50 each and really feel like crap.

I bought my first suit from MW. It held up reasonably well but you could tell it's not that great of fabric or finishing.

A BB suit is now 598, great buy.

Just discover thetiebar.com -- $15 per tie w/flat $6 shipping -- but haven't used it

[Edit] All the discount stores (TJ Maxx, Century 21, Marshall's, Ross) have ties and dress shirts between $10 and $20. Obviously, more limited in selection, but I'll always find a gem any time I'm there.
