Where is the United States in Biblical prophecy????

This close to the "end times" (if you believe things are getting close) and yet no real mention of any country or entity like the United States of America (#1 super power in the world today) anywhere to be found in the Bible??

(This was a rather heated discussion at church yesterday)

???

How do you know you are not a Jew in Israel and everything you have experienced is not just a dream?

I saw something on the history channel about this. Seems that if you're REALLY loose in your biblical interpretation then you can squeeze the U.S. in there.

you know for a prophecy, the bible sure is vague... oh wait, that's how all prophecies are!

and when five cycles of the fifth house are done, and beast of masked identity will sow the seed that will bring the 3 kingdoms of the mid northern land into a unity agains the shadow that hangs over the meek.
like that?

The bible was written by flawed humans to deal with their own mortality. I wouldn't put much stock in what's in that piece of fiction.

How loose?? (And if I'm assuming the references you're talking about............Aren't we only talking about "west"???)

???

And, no, I don't intend this to be a topic of flame-wars, but a genuine discussion of where and how the United States of America (arguably the greatest nation in the history of mankind) can be included into Bible prophecy!

People have been believing THAT for, oh, 2,000 years.

Just to educate you a bit (and not insultingly, but genuinely)......

One of the Bible's prophecies recently fulfilled is the rebirth of Israel as a nation once again.

Ahem.......that happened in much more coincidently........the RECENT end of that 2,000 years you're talking about.

Well, you don't have to believe much in any other form of religion either, but if you were to be put to death in the midst of a Christian/Islamic/Jewish battle, you might wanna wish you'd known a bit more about what that *fictional* book had to say........😉

you already know what it says, yet you still have no idea what it's saying... so what's your point?

When I saw the title I thought this was a joke - implying that Americans are so arrogant they expect to be mentioned in the bible. When I read the rest I found I was right.

A quick google netted me this page.

The United States in the Bible

This has nothing to do with the actual program that I saw on television but they both make reference to this particular prophecy in the bible.

Why would it be mentioned? How old is the USA? ~500 years, right? (16th Century, to 21st Century). And the bible? Probably at least 4 times that age? Then why would there be any mention of the USA?

Why? Is there something in there that would get me out of such a predicament?

You sound so... exited 😕

Like you're hoping you missed a part in there, somewhere, where hellfire rained down on the rest of the world and the US got cookies.

Because if it intends to "prophesy" about the "end times" and includes players from all of the other regions of the world......

(If you know Biblical prophecy, then you know that there are quite a few references to the return of nations past and much warring between them. How could middle east nations, including the rebirth of the Roman Empire.......((Europe?)).....become players in a global battle that would not include the U.S.??)

Does that make better sense??

(i.e. If we're talking "prophecy" then we're looking to the Bible for future events.)

I still say you're naive to think the world's going to end in the next few years.

That's actually an excellent link.

Our discussion yesterday went about as far as the U.S. having been eliminated at some point in history.

But Rev 12:14 brings up an interesting proposition, for sure!

When did I say few? When did I even say years?? 😕

Do you think the US is still going to be around in 1,000 years?

Well, judging by the current string of fulfilled prophecy, my guess would be that we're looking at something closer to the next few/several decades, not thousand years. 😉

And that's kinda' my whole basis for this argument. As the other poster pointed out in the link which included Rev 12:14........I'd have to propose this question to you.........

Is there any bigger advocate or supporter of Israel than the U.S.???
