Grindhouse

Its freakin' Robert Rodriguez and freakin' Quentin Tarantino. It has babes with guns, zombies, deathmobiles, 'splosions, and scantily clad women. Rotten Tomatoes loves it. The fan reviews at Rotten Tomatoes are all positive. The fan reviews at IMDB are positive. Yet barely a word has been spoken about it here on ATOT.

What's wrong, is it the complete lack of homoerotic Spartans?

I'm so excited that I don't have time to post about it. Too bad Detroit isn't one of the 13 cities to get midnight showings :(

I'll be there tomorrrrrroooooooow!

Maybe it's because, ATOT being text-based, there aren't any ridiculous quotes like "THIS IS SPARTA!" than can be easily turned into viral neffs.

I will definitely be seeing it. One reviewer was complaining that there was too much dialogue in Tarantino's segment and that made it seem a bit slow compared to Rodriguez', but it looks like a blast. I might even buy popcorn. :)

When I saw the commercial with the girl with a gun for leg spinning around and shooting....I was kind of "WTF?"

Isn't a movie that begs for me to see it at the theater.

Other reviewers have said they prefer Death Proof over the zombie flick. I guess it depends on whether or not you appreciate Tarantino's style of dialogue. Personally, I love it.

A Tarantino segment with too much dialogue? I couldn't ever see that happening! ;)

Wow, 88% on rottentomatoes. I wasn't even aware it was out yet.

I haven't been talking about it because I was going to wait for the reviews before I made up my mind if I would see it. I love the work of both Rodriguez and Tarantino, but that doesn't mean i'm going to assume that everything that they do will be great.

Seeing it tonight at 10, I predict greatness.
For those in NYC, the Union Square Regal has showings at 10, 12 and 1230 tonight.

I know, I got the feeling the reviewer had never seen any Tarantino movies before this.

Tonight. You. Must. Report.

From the theater with a laptop, if possible.

Planet Terror looks great, I don't have any desire to hear Tarantino jerk himself off in the second half.

I'm not a huge fan of Tarantino.. which puts me into the binary 'you hate him because he's popular' or 'you're right I hate him too' camp.
Frankly I just don't like his self-important/pretentious style, it isn't entertaining to me.

edit: wrong title

Death Proof is the Tarantino portion. Planet Terror is the other one with the wonderchick with one leg.
