He didn't win it once in spite of trying to steal it.

As for now...he is too busy trying to hunt down Manbearpig to run for President.

MBP is currently the biggest threat to humanity as we know it!

Are you serial?

Super serial!

Hillary is Bush in drag.

She is THE establishment.

As for Gore. Hopefully he is happy with his movies, as a leader he would probably have made Bush look good.

Gore is doing very well for himself criticizing environmental policy. Rolling out practical solutions to the problem is something he has no comprehension of; hell look at how he behaves in day to day life with regards to energy consumption.

He would make a horrible leader as he'd have no idea what to do and with his new found celebrity status, people would expect this from him.

gore isn't running.

imo, the only reason he's not flatly rejecting it is to get some free publicity for his environmental issues.

You can't be serious.

But let's say you are.....

Here is a brief run down of Thompson.

He has lived in the South, East, and West

He earned his law degree in 1967

He was appointed Assistant U.S. Attorney and served in that post from 1969 to 1972.

He has been involved in politics since the early 70's and was a key figure in bringing down a corrupt President.

Was instrumental in brining down a corrupt governor of Tennessee

Was a U.S. Senator from 1994 to 2003.

Sooooo......clearly if you want to go by your criteria Thompson is far more qualified than Hillary.

They are equally qualified. However, Thompson is more of the same old, same old. Hillary is a fresh face, the face of change.

This has to be sarcasm or somebody completely devoid of logic thought and critical thinking. Clinton is fresh? What planet are you from?

After that... Don't know if he has enough appeal to middle america to carry it through to November. He's built up one heckuva kook lefty image over the last few years. Not sure how that would play to Jane & Joe Sixpack. The only loser in modern times to come back from defeat and win was Nixon. So it's not impossible... But I just don't see any widespread appeal with him.

Ya, *Gore* built up that - it's not the attack of the right based on lies.

The right just falls for that crap.

What was the 'widespread appeal' of GWB? Nothing but hot air marketing. A lying, manipulative, sociopathic immoral whore with a very little polish - very attractive.

But show him using a few well designed phrases like 'compassionate conservative' and talking about popular conservative themes like 'no nation building' ,and anti-tax no matter how fiscally irresponsible the debt, toss in things like the religious right pushing him, and you have enough for him to win.

Gore is a good example of the right doing character assassination - it's terrible but amusing how they painted *him* as the chronic liar of the 2000 election.

The way they turned his excellent leadership of the creation of the internet - something all the posters here should appreciate - into an attack that he lied about it is remarkable.

So it was the right wingers who put all that mis-information into An Inconvenient Truth? It was the right wingers who made him waste more resources on his personal home per month than the average home uses in a year while he was out flying in private jets preaching about environmental responsibility? All those times where he was screaming into microphones like a madman... that was the "right's" fault too.

He did this damage to himself. HE made himself look like a kook. Nobody had to gang up on him. He was happy to do it himself. There's no character assasination here. People just looked at him with their own eyes and realized he is a nut.

Like I said, he's big in the eyes of the core Ds, and that might be enough to win him the nom. But I think that the average american looks at him as kind of a nut and a hypocrite.

Did anyone see Edwards the other day? I think it might have been GMA, they asked about his haircut and he responded along the lines that he learned his lesson. I don't think Gore can learn the lesson.

He is Washington DC. He is out of touch with regular Americans and as such he doesn't feel obliged NOT to tell us how to sacrifice while he justifies by any means his lavish lifestyle. He cannot think any other way, he was born and bred into this establishment.
