Where have all the rainbow jimmies gone?

My son starts pre-school tomorrow, and they are starting it off with an ice cream sundae party. Each kid is supposed to bring a sundae ingredient with them. We got assigned Rainbow Jimmies. Been to all 3 grocery stores in the area - none carry rainbow jimmies, only chocolate jimmies. Walmart doesn't carry them either. We asked at the bakery at one of the grocery stores if we could buy some off them (since their cupcakes on display had them), but they wouldn't sell them to us.

Where's a guy supposed to go and buy rainbow jimmies?

Well maybe its a regional term. Yeah, the multi-colored sprinkles you use on ice cream or cupcakes and stuff. We call em Jimmies here. I like the chocolate ones better personally.

We don't have Smart and Final here. I could check out Costco I guess, although I'm kind of doubtful they'll have them there either. There aren't any bakery supply stores in the area either.

My son is going to fail his first homework assignment!

I thought they were rainbow colored condoms.

me too.

Based on the popularity of this response, I think Jeraden should get some multicolored condoms and bring those in. If anyone questions it or looks at him funny, he should play dumb like he's not from Pennsylvania.

Sounds like a good idea. If he were to get fruit flavored ones, it would work even better.

Try a party store (one that sells decorations, cards, paper plates etc.) If they don't have them, they'll have "Bob The Builder" or something like that. $$ of course, but you want that little darling to do well in preschool, don't you?

A few phone calls might save you some time.

I would just take the chocolate ones. It's pre-school afterall, it's not a life-shattering problem, imho.

WTF are rainbow jimmies?

So where's everyone from that calls them jimmies vs sprinkles? I've always called them jimmies but know that some people just call them sprinkles. I'm in WI.

But of course we also have Bubblers which others seem to call Drinking Fountains...
