From all the Christian descriptions of heaven as a place of fluffy clouds and basking in the glory of god, I'd say hell sounds like LESS torment.

Not Biblical. Just something that was influenced by other cultures.

really dumb question

Pretty much. I guess it comes from a wrong theological philosophy of thinking that hell is going to be a place where all the hedonists will party. Not true under the Judeo-Christian view.

In the Judeo-Christian view of Hell, it is a place where you are eternally seperated from G-d, which means that it will be a place of eternal torment since all things good come from G-d. Just stating what Christian view of Hell.

Correction: Hell does not exist in Jewish beliefs

Sex, drugs, rock and roll, violent videogames, and porn are all in Hell. What's so great about heaven?

# Deuteronomy 32:22
For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

# 2 Samuel 22:6
The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

# Job 11:8
It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?

# Job 26:6
Hell is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering.

# Psalm 9:17
The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

# Psalm 16:10
For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

# Psalm 18:5
The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.

# Psalm 55:15
Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them.

# Psalm 86:13
For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

# Psalm 116:3
The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
Just a quick search. Haven't researched this. I would expect that the passages saying "the lowest Hell" are certainly referencing it, while the others could be relating to the grave/death.

Spending an eternity anywhere would be hell to me. So, it really doesn't matter.

After having every possible conversation for the millionth time, doing every possible activity for the millionth time, eating every possible meal for the millionth time, etc. all I have to look forward to is to reach the billionth milestone of each of those. Eternity IS my definition of hell.

Think about it, if it is possible that the next fun activity you do will be your last time ever doing it, then that activity is very special. Having infinite amounts of it removes all specialness, removes all fun, etc. The reason life is valuable is because it is limited.

My research tends to say we won't be going to heaven anyway. Earth will be rebuilt.

elaborate..

Well according to the bible, when you die your spirit simply sleeps until Jesus returns and the earth is restored, in which time our bodies are also restored and everything is brand new like it was in the beginning. I'm sure at some point we can visit heaven, but it's not like we are all going to heaven when we die.

Jesus even makes reference to it when he refers to his friend Lazarus as sleeping. There is no reference that I recall that anyone goes to heaven when they die.

I'd prefer to go to hell. I mean, where else can you get payback for all the crap that has happened in this world? At least there, I could theoretically kill Hitler.

What makes you think you'll be the one doing the killing

Six words:

Nazi bodyguards went to hell too.
