I paste mine onto Paint, as opposed to Word like others do. Smaller file and a jpg can be opened by computers w/o Office.

ACDSee 6 if I do the whole screen capture, but ACDSee has a capture option with many options like the traditional PrintScreen, or just an area of the screen, etc.

Paint. Usually you only need to crop it. Paint lets you crop. No need for all those unused features of the non-free programs. By the way, anyone can read Office files for free. Just tell them to download Open Office. That should never be a concern of yours.

uhh.. Paint?

Why would you paste it in Word? lol...

That'd be like copying text and pasting it into Photoshop to edit it.

Paint! You may not need to crop if you know the secret to capturing only the active window.

Psst, it's alt - print screen. ;)

When you take a screenshot with Mac OS X, it is instantly saved as a pdf on the desktop. Take that all you windows losers :p.
