Anyone know of a good place for replacement toner carts, or should I start buying HP carts again?

Where did you order this cart?

No company, not even OEM cartridge vendors have 100% quality. There is always a fraction defective. Although I never dealt with Swiftink, you should be able to call them up, relate what happened, and get that defective cartridge replaced, either free of charge, or you may be charged some postage.

Do you use ink or toner? What kind of printer? I have a source in NC who might be able to mail you a cartridge, depending on your needs. He doesn't have a web site, he's an independent working for an office supply company but does the cartridges on his own. He supplies my Brother and I've always had good service.

The guy is Randy Taylor in Hickory, NC, phone 828-244-8544. His email is down right now but his prices start at $15 or $18 and go up to a couple hundred, depending on the kind of printer.

Randy worked with my husband for many years and will eventually establish himself in a REAL business.

Good luck~

Yup, I got it replaced free of charge, they emailed me a postage label and mailed me a replacement as soon as they saw it had been sent off.

I don't print pictures or much of anything in color so I get refills @ Walgreens. Works fine.

There is a lot to be said for that strategy if its available. In my case, our local Walgreen's does not offer the service.

And in my case, refilling my own unchipped Canon cartridges is so cheap and easy for me, any Walgreen's would have to offer a hell of a price to be even remotely competitive.

But since I have had zero historical luck or skill at refilling HP or Lexmark printhead on the cartridge types, I would use a Walgreen's for those for sure. Let them stand behind the fraction defectives. I am by a local Walgreens every three days or so anyway, so why not use them? I should also note staples offers the same service, but in my case, I am usually not near one of those.

Another person here with a laser printer, got a Dell 1600n all-in-one network printer 4 or 5 years ago. We don't print a lot but we're still on the same 5,000 sheep toner cartridge and the print outs are just as good as the first sheet.

When we used to have inkjets everytime we wanted to print something we had to go buy new cartridges because they'd dry out from lack of use. So you either waste the ink by running the thing every few days to keep the nozzles clear or you toss out the crusty cartridges every month or 2.

laser >>>>>>>> inkjet

I usually by my ink or laser carts at Office Depot. Yes - I have both. I really don't do a lot of printing - that is only for "other folks."

But, yes, on balance, laser priting is more econiomical, at least for me.

The Dell 1230c is a $200 laser. Expensive to refill, though.

FYI $99 on sale today with free 3-5 Day Delivery. (on sale for how long, I do not know) Total Discounts -$130.00 (+ free $25 shipping)

Saw it on slickdeals and came here to search for "shopper confirmation". Why am I a sucker for these $99 printer sales (50%+ off). They have found my pricing point.

I just ordered from ClickInks. My DesignJet450C is getting hard to buy for.

Most eBay hits are 4 years expired. I've had good luck with expired ink, but got burned the last time out.

This is my first experiment with remans, I've got my fingers crossed.

It may not be evident to you evident, but you should be asking how many times you restart your computer in that same week. But for most inkjet printers, every restart of the computer causes the printer to run some some ink and solvent to prevent the print head from drying out.

On my Canon printer there is a simple on off switch to prevent that wastage of ink, on inkjet printers that lack the feature, you can simply pull the plug which is infallible. As long as you print once a week, you should not have any worries about printhead dry out. Push it two months or more and you likely will.

$25 LaserJet 4000 series toner from eBay / 10,000 pages per cartridge = $0.0025 per page

Can't beat that with a bat... !! ;)

Would that $65 samsung laser printer and black toner replacement be more economical than a typical inkjet printer?
All the inkjet/bubble jet printers I have used are annoying and wont let me print when one of the color cartridges goes low. I freaking hate that.

Yes, any laser is going to be cheaper compared to inkjet that burns ink everytime you turn the darn thing on whether you print with the ink or not.

Just received replacement cartridges for my Canon MX7600 from Swiftink. These are the "Compatible" type vs. the "Remanufactured" type (see their website for the difference).

My Canon takes two different black cartridges, a yellow, magenta and cyan.

I haven't put the yellow, magenta or cyan cartridges in yet. I have put the black ones in and they don't work.

When I run the printer's nozzle check utility the patterns on the page are faded and there are blank spaces where there should be lines. When I try printing anything with black text or images, etc. nothing prints out.

I buy cheap ink from meritline dot com for my brother inkjet. Haven't had a problem yet, and the generic black ink worked better than an oem black ink cartridge. I think that the oem cart had been sitting on the shelf too long at Staples.

You likely need a new printer head (assuming that you've attempted to clean the nozzles).

The Ink Factory local store. Great price and stock for exchange. I get along fine with them for my HP Business Inkjet 2200. The printer was too expensive but I bought it a long time ago and it works great. Not too good for photos though. Ink tanks last a long time and never had to replace a print head.
