something tells me that there's an afterlife. it's difficult for us to concieve or even care about it because we're all so coddled in our techno-whimsy and our material pursuits but there's too much beauty in this world and there have been too many hints from saintly people to think otherwise.
think of it this way: before we came into this life, where were we? in the womb of the mother, right? and what were we doing in the womb of the mother? developing the components of our physical being. what use were they? they allowed us to come into this world and grow and develop into perfect humans.
so, before the 'afterlife,' where were we? in this world. and what are we doing in this world? some of us do nothing special. some of us do rotten things. but some of us try to develop our spiritual qualities and our spiritual selves. what use is the spirit? it allows us to go into the next world and grow and develop into perfect saintly beings.
now, if we had not developed our physical beings in the womb of the mother, life would have been awfully difficult. imagine going through life with no arms or no legs or no eyes. that, i think, is what it's like in the next world, when we go through life without spiritual qualities.
