Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?
If yes, vote for Bush, if no, vote for Kerry.
It's more complicated than that, but without going into details, that's as good a way as any to pick.

Agreed, however don't take a poll here. Go to foxnews.com and check out ther polls. Whoever is winning there you should vote for since they are unbiased.

Are you serious? So if the current president hasn't made us better, but the other guy for president openly says that they're satan incarnate and will drive the nation into the ground and nuke every other 1st-world nation, you'd still vote for him because the current president didn't make much progress? Wow, what political prowess!

Actually, that's better than reusing the same platform that he used 4 years ago, because he never did most of them in the first place. ;)

That and the whole pandering to the Mexicans is just wrong.

He did promise to get rid of Gay marriages thou... hmmmm....

You don't need any information! If you're rich you vote Republican, if you're poor or a minority you vote Democrat.

No, if you desire to be rich (and are willing to work for it) vote Republican.

If you're poor and want the rich guy in the next neighborhood to be poor as well because it's not fair that he's rich and you're not, vote Democrat. They'll make sure they take all his money and make him as poor as you.

Any chance you could save this crap for P&N? Prior to Bush, we had a Democrat as president for 2 terms, and last I checked, there's still plenty of rich people in the US.

No please keep him out of P&N too. We're crazy over there but not THAT crazy.

Just go to P&N.
You'll get lots of level-headed unbiased information there about the two candidates.

For people who are voting for the first time I suggest this:

straight forward info about the candidates

Just lists the issues, some facts about the issues, the candidates stance on the issues and voting history, if any.

Another good site to break down the electoral vote is here. The guy who maintains the site is pretty dedicated to keeping his data very objective, though he does admit to being a kerry supporter. There is also a link on the site for a very republican slant electoral tally if you'd rather look at that.

Otherwise another good place to listen to candidate information is on NPR. They have some pretty good interviews. Otherwise if you want specific people to listen to I'd suggest interviews by either John McCain or Howard Dean, they both have a way of just addressing the issues without seeming to preachy.

hope that helps anyone who still has not made up their mind for this november.

also your local papers and/or radio stations are helpful too because they will be able to put a local slant on the issues and what matters to your area the most.

My local newspaper has objective information on each of the candidates for local elections. As for national elections (president) if you don't know about those candidates you must be hiding in a hole.

Well, the secretary of state in Oregon(who just happens to be actively working for the Kerry campaign) did his best to keep Nader off the ballot.
But a circuit court judge ripped him a new one and ruled that Nader WILL be on the ballot here.

What are your core beliefs for this country?

Republicans generally believe in low taxes, liberty and freedom, and moral family values

Socialists .. er Democrats generally believe in high taxes, government control, redistribution of wealth, and moral relativism (where you make up your own morality).

Gee, tough one. I'll go with "R" for 200, please :)

I really don't mind paying taxes. In return I get a free country, the freedom to choose where to work and live, roads to drive on, etc. It all works out.
