i'm looking to commission something of my own design.

it'd be closest to a chinese polearm, but not exactly.

because of their "laser technology", i'm guessing they just cut it out of a block of steel or something. what i want is a workable, usable weapon, so it has to be hammer forged.

Well you could email and ask them if their swords come with useable blades before disccounting them.

well, i was hoping for like suggestions on what to look for so i could establish a business relationship with them, because there's about 3 things i want commissioned.

something like a chinese polearm (my own design)
A katana
and the other one escapes me right now.


i'll try looking up swordsmith in the yellow pages, that just sounds funny... maybe it'll work :)



and lonyo, i'll also shoot an email off to them, ask if their blades are hammer forged.

For a unique design, quantity one, hand-forged? I'd expect a skilled blacksmith to charge a little more than that. You might need to settle for machine-cut sheet metal at that budget level.
