Mine's another online romance, but with a twist...
Freshman year at college, I was chatting on ICQ with my old HS gf (we ended it on friendly terms - we mutually decided it wasn't going to work out). Well, she had to do laundry or something, so her friend from down the hall was in the room with her & sat down and started chatting with me. We chatted for awhile, and found we really had a lot in common. She put ICQ on her comp, and we spent a lot of time the rest of the year chatting. After spring finals, she & another friend went up to visit my old HS gf in our home-town, so we met up & finally met face-to-face. That summer she worked at Disneyworld, so we wrote letters & I sent her care packages, then she came to visit me at college over Labor Day weekend fall of sophmore year. We've been "offically dating" ever since (2 years this fall).
It's a long-distance relationship - we're 300 miles apart when we're at school (even farther when we are both home), but we email/IM/write letters, and we've been talking on the phone more now, too (I got a cell phone this spring with plenty of night/weekend minutes). On average, we see each other about one weekend a month. But the relationship is going very well and we'll probably marry once we both graduate (she's got a year and a half left; I'm done in the spring).
