I got an mp3 player and now I need to find mp3's for it. I downloaded iTunes but it saves songs in some wierd "m4p" format that is a PITA to change into mp3. I looked at Wal-mart's service, but they only sell "clean" songs. I looked at Napster and Rhapsody but they both require a monthly fee in addition to a per-use charge for mp3 downloads.

What is a good service where I can get un-edited mp3's and pay-per-use only?

I don't know the legitemacy of that site. Lots of people here use it, however, it is based in Russia. That's why I said try your luck. It isn't a service I'd use myself, but as I said, many people here have and do use it.

There is an English site for it..just click the English words lol.

You cannot, and will never find a legitimate site that will let you dowload MP3s of songs that you would buy in CD form (besides indy-bands and a few special circumstances). The MP3s do not have any support for a copy-protection wrapper. The RIAA requires any site that legimiately distributes songs to have copy protection of some sort. Rhapsody, iTunes, Walmart, etc., they are not MP3s. They will be AAC (m4a), WMA or some sort of other file format that does.

That's the end of the story.

Like... duh!

Only idiots download for a buck a song when you can buy the real CD for about the same price and then rip it to mp3 yourself.

And I'm 99.9% certain that allofmp3.com is illegal.

Not trying to be a a$$, but what makes their site illegal? Sorry, I am not too familiar with Russian laws.

Their site may be legal for people who live in Russia, but AFAIK if any of US use it, it is illegal, since we are in the United States, and obviously our copyright laws are vastly different.

Sure, why not? Believe it or not that's not illegal if it's for your own use.
