The President does make policy and that determines how law is enforced. Like Sanders wa asked and could not answer, where in the law does it require parents be seperated from their children? The answer is it does not. If there are going to be detention centers then they can be humane and families be together. There is no excuse. Reps, Dems, liberal etc, are irrelevant to what is right and what is wrong. Like I just said in another post, "You shall know them by their fruits" and this particular one is poison.

You’re just making things up again. Republicans, not Democrats, have been the ones to repeatedly torpedo immigration legislation. This is a cold, hard fact.

Everyone but the most hardcore progressives care about the 'family separations' only at a completely superficial level that won't impact their votes whatsoever nor motivate their behavior beyond when the images are on the screen. The left was happy to provide a long running parade of "OMG the poors are going to die in the streets outside hospitals" to support Obamacare and not only did it not help them on ACA but it lost them both chambers of Congress. "Oh noes children in cages" will be more of the same zero impact in 0.1 seconds after the TV changes over to coverage of the next big news event.

Uhhhhh, progressives pointing out the effects of the AHCA almost certainly contributed to it being the least popular piece of legislation in modern history and that unpopularity almost certainly caused its defeat.

If you think doing repulsive and unpopular things doesn’t change how people vote then you’re welcome to believe that. You’re living by in a fantasy world but that’s your right. Otherwise you might want to google the relationship between approval ratings and vote share. 🙂

I'm sure that many people do not care at any real level, but today is Father's Day and unnecessary cruelty is being justified as God's direction in the seperation of fathers from their children. Perhaps people are as shallow and terrible as you say, certainly some are, but some know evil when they see it. Some preach that it's Gods will, that this is something we should accept because "it's the law". Yes, Daniel deserved to be eaten by lions- he did not bow down. The Christians and anyone else who helped the Jews escape death Hitler decreed as lawful is a sinner and an enemy of the people. The list is endless, people of faith or not opposing unneeded abuse of power of the state.

I won't forget and neither will history if evil fails.

I hope this at least gives oppertunity for some Trump supporters to pause and do some soul searching.. Sure I am angry but am I THAT angry? Mad?

I just wonder if there are limits to hope and when one kind of hope should or must give way to another kind. I spent some moments thinking about a civil war where the North wanted to leave and what that would look like.

Apparently the resistance by Germans to Hitler was improper. Sessions certainly concurs by his stated positions. We have concordance in our times.

So your recent posts in this thread and elsewhere about the recent happenings, I’d like to assume you guys are not as worked up as it may appear . Of all people you should know that the media works on the business model of inciting people. The world is not coming to an end
