Because, based on what is going on now with NF boards. They are cheaper and offer as many, if not more, features than Intel chipset boards. Top of the line NF boards are ~$200. Top of the line Intel boards are well over $300 and the NF boards offer just as much ******, if not more.

if that statement was true then why did the i945 chipset sell wayyyyy more then the NF4 chipsets? if your going to say price, then even if you look at the i975 chipsets, it still sold WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more then the NF4 chipsets. And believe me, intel NF4 chipsets were out for a while now.

Anyhow its all in the air, the NF500 chipsets might blow compared to the i975s. So as someone else stated in this thread, dont be pouring water without proof its water.

Has anyone found the new Conroe processors in stock at any on-line retailers? I just checked NewEgg and they're still not even listed on the site.

Only thing we need is a motherboard that doesn't cost $200+ especially for people who don't need SLI. That is just freakn crazy. I am waiting for nforce chipset boards to come out.

Gigabyte ds3, still a HUGE amount available at frys for $150.

Over $300? Where? Best Buy?

Even the great P5W-DH is below that.

I think you're spreading FUD. Intel chipsets have traditionally been ROCK solid and the same cannot be said for those from other vendors. Ever heard of anyone being fired for purchasing Intel processors or motherboards?

Intel chipsets are great, rock stable performance and decent features. Unless you need SLI or something, not sure why you'd want an Nvidia chipset.

I'v never had a smooth ride with Nvidia chipsets. Always some USB issue (NF2, 3, 4) or crappy software (IDE drivers, Nvidia Firewall programs), but I do like them still. Most of the bugs are not fundemental and they overclock well.

Comparing to Intel though, Intel chipsets are always rock solid, offer excellent overclocking from the right MFR's, and good support. I'v only bought NVidia for AMD because that's been the best option. If AMD made chipsets like Intel, I'd be all over them (which they just might now, with ATI).

You're not the only one going crazy over getting a E6600 (I've had my system ready since the 25th), so what three places are shipping E6600s?

You realize you could've gotten all three shipments, then sold them for the same price or higher than what you paid for them?

But seriously, from info I'm seeing in several places it appears Intel is now telling the teir1 distro's that the shipments they were expecting 8/7 won't arive until 8/25 or latter:(

i hope your stating this before the s940 optys came out. Because if u bought a Xeon chip over a opty after s940, u could get into serious trouble from your it department :X
