It would be polite to help them I guess, but 9/10 times the driver will just get freaked out that some strange guy is helping them parallel park. They might even take it in a bad way, like you assumed they were crappy parkers.
Exactly.
I can appreciate the urge to be a helpful person, but more often than not it just leads to unpleasant situations.
Of course I could be overly paranoid.
Knowing what I do of the legal system and how hateful/ignorant parents are has made me scared to help out kids, especially female kids.
I currently reside in Oregon and we just had a bad winter (bad for Oregon, the snow lasted more than a day).
Most people arent prepared for snow and some are just too dumb to deal with it properly.
More than a couple times I saw girls walking home from school underdressed and it was pretty darn cold.
I let them walk.
I'd rather the dumb broad freeze than risk getting into a lawsuit because I drive her home to lawyer-happy parents.
This may seem like a non-issue to some folks but I grew up in a part of the country that encourages folks to take care of each other. If you see someone walking home in bad weather you pick them up.
Then I went to california.
After three years in that place I learned its always better to just avoid bad situations entirely. You can get sued for anything at any time, and if they have better lawyer than you they will probably win too.
Its not worth the risk.
Giving rides to young girls - No.
Sticking up for a womans honor in a bar - Hells no. If she were worth fighting for she'd be my girl and we wouldnt have been at the bar in the first place.
Providing first aid in an accident - Probably not. I'd make phone calls and pull my emergency kit out of my car, but I wouldnt risk the lawsuit involved if I hurt someone.
