Had a debate with friends yesterday.

Majority wadded, but just wanna get a better demographic poll here

Personally, I wad. Main reasons:

1. Fast
2. I want the maximum distance between my hand and my ass
3. I don't have to worry about my finger breaking through the TP and going up my ass if I apply to much force. (which is needed sometimes for the dirtier ones)

for those who fold, how many times do you fold?

3-4 sheets, fold in half.

even using 1ply, I can't say I've ever "broken through." are you guys wiping like you're sanding down a piece of wood or something?

I think it's just an excuse to hide their self-exploratory feelings.

Usually wad. Sometimes fold.

Still waiting on a house nice enought to install a bidet.

For what its worth, I generally prefer the industrial stuff to that fancy soft junk with the flowers and butterfly's.

Usually fold. I only wad when I'm faced with that super-thin 1-ply stuff that doesn't absorb anything.

That just means there should be more folding. If only I could get 8-ply toilet paper, I'd never have to fold.

Wad, more rough edges to clean with. Plus TP isn't nearly expensive enough to worry about saving.

Fold. Wadding can be messy when the tp finally leaves your arse. I'd rather have some control. Besides, it uses less and won't clog as easily.

Also, another TMI note, I find it ironic that I come across this thread while posting from the can.

I fold the TP by thirds.

Folding once in half is too thin. Folding twice into 4ths is thick enough, but you have to pull out a longer length to make it worthwhile.

Doing a tri-fold (like the way you fold paper for putting into an envelope) is a good compromise between thickness and TP usage.
