When you throw something away...

I grew up in Dallas, TX for 15 years before moving out to IL where I've spent the last 7 years.

I didn't realize this until someone pointed it out but it seems that people from Texas say...

chunk it...

but people up here say chuck it...

so far I've seen 2 different people from Texas post "chunk it" referring to throwing something away...

i just want to see if this is true.

if you're from texas...

do you say chunk or chuck?

if you're from anywhere else...

do you say chunk or chuck?

thanks! 🙂

Do those who say chuck, chuck a rock, or chuck a baseball?

Yes, chucking is a derivative of throw. As in throw something away.

How on earth you get to chunk something is beyond me...Chunk is a noun...not a verb.
