When I want to bitch about my job or something like that, I will tell friends.
When I just want a general opinion on some matter, I will post on ATOT.
When something is really really bothering me, it generally has no real solution. I just have to learn to deal with it. So I drink.

My best friend. In fact I went over to his place last night, and told him I wanted to quit my job. He took the time over the course of an hour to lay out the facts and reasons of why that would be a bad idea, and he was right. Good thing he saved my ass, I clearly wasn't thinking straight.

Sometimes I'll talk to my sister, or one of my parents too.

Me. Preferably with empty house so I can do some yelling laced with obscenities while I'm at it.

Well, in the OP's defense the question may have been a bit vague but there is a lot of truth in my answer.

Women "talk". Men look for real solutions to problems. This is something thats verified by many people as well.

Women are quite happy to talk. They dont want your advice or a solution to the problem, they simply want to talk.
Men, if they "talk", are looking for advice or opinions on the situation.

This has caused many problems between men and women. A woman tries to "just talk" to her man and the man answers back as if hes trying to solve a problem, rather then just being a receptive listener.

The only 2 guys I know who "just talk" about serious things are super gay and when they do so its usually with a bunch of girls.

Not that this is bad, but point being as a guy I dont "just talk". If I have a problem or something I call up my best friend whos like a brother to me, but I'm not calling him just to share the problem and expect him to be a receptive listener, I'm calling for his advice and opinion.

In the case of the OP's question...
'When you really need to talk, who do you turn to?"
No one. I dont freaking "talk". I problem solve. If "When you really need to talk[about a problem], who do you turn to?" I call my brother and hope he gives me some good advice.

Seeing as he likes to party its usually a toss up if I get a solid answer or something along the lines of "Ahh hell, a night of hookers and blow and you wont care!"

Sometimes I just sit and have a chat with myself... at least I know I'll listen :(. Sometimes I'll talk with some friends, but that's usually just when I want someone to bitch to about WoW :p.

Damn...QFT. So many times I try to problem-solve when my g/f has a concern and she's like "WTF? I just want to talk right now, I don't need a solution."

Having said that, she seems to be able to give me advice...so I guess it's not an equal exchange .

When I need quick advice, usually a friend or my brother.

I consult my parents a lot less than I used to (I'm 24 BTW) - they just seem more out of touch the older I get.

If you cant quite figure out the difference watch Brokeback Mountain and then find an episode of Saturday Night Live with a sketch of the "Ambiguously Gay Duo" or an episode of In Living Color with "Men On Movies" or "Men On Sports".

Suddenly you will realize there is gay, then there is SUPER GAY .

Since 99 percent of people on here can't reply with honesty, I guess I'll be part of the other 1 percent. I either call my best friend Ami or my older sister Lisa. Those two know me better than I know myself.

I go to the gay bar in town and start having a drink, waiting to talk to someone who will listen. Most of the time, I find someone.

Well guess what? You're one of the liars.

This thread isnt even a hundred posts yet and I already gave an honest answer, so it was higher than 1% before you even arrived.
