Well?

In my opinion everyone has at least one person they turn to. Who is yours?

No one. I keep it bottled up inside. I find that no one will really "listen" to me when i try to talk, so i stopped trying.

I guess it'd depend on what needs talking about. Probably my parents or my sister to start with. No one local though.

[what abouts us? it has us, doesn't it? we kept it alive, we kept it strong. it needs us, it does.]

You misunderstand...those PM's are when i'm horny...not when i need someone to talk to.

Actually it depends on what I need to talk about, but fortunately I have friends & family in real-life!

As do i. Unfortunately i know better that none of them will actually listen to me...rather than just hear me speak and in turn try to either solve my problem (which i'm not asking them to do) or they respond with their own rants/raves or experiences (which i don't want to hear, i just wanted them to listen).

So yeah.

I'm the same, although it might not be such a good thing.

I have the same problem.
Lots of people (especially women) say they will listen if you need it or that they're good listeners, but I find its rarely true.
Usually its the person who never claims to be a listener that actually does alright, but you have to corner them first.
Sadly I have found since my dad passed away that my mom is not a good listener. She's nice and she's certainly been good to me, but my father was always the better listener.

I dont believe in yammering on to priests or bartenders.

Occasionally I will call up an old girlfriend for some comfort, but since I moved recently and have no local ex-girlfriends, that hasnt happened either. (Its not worth the long distance charges.)

Have been getting more and more stressed out at work lately and suspect I may need to see a shrink. Am starting to see the early warning signs of my blue funk turning into depression.
I dont wanna be there ever again.

EDIT: STORY TIME!

Some of the best listeners I've ever found were strippers. I didnt know it back then but such ladies are accustomed to seeing men having hard times and have gotten used to being amateur therapists.
When I was 18 and having a hard time adjusting to Navy life (specifically Deck Department and its crew made up with the worst the Navy has to offer) I found myself edging the deep pit of depression. Went out to a club called Crossroads in Mayport looking for some open ears.
Talking to those ladies was a real boost when I was lucky enough to be back in port and not on duty. The older gals were especially good at listening. They're nice ladies and you dont have to see them ever again if you choose, and they can keep secrets surprisingly well for women who carouse with men all day.
The alternative is a one-night stand with some slut at a bar, but I have found not only is it difficult to get them when you're horny, its damn near impossible when you're depressed. And afterwards they have a tendency to either pass out or haul ass. Which is fine if I just wanted some easy nookie, but most of the deep talks I've had with bar girls has occurred at the bar.

i've found that too.

i'm on good terms with my parents, they never seem to care about anything in my life except if i do something they don't like then they bitch at me, otherwise its just basic communication.

i only have one good friend that i do stuff with and thats not very often. he's probably the closest i guess. even then it doesn't seem like he really cares or listens all that much.
